What Do Cards Do In Pokémon TCG Pocket?

As a TCG game, Pokémon TCG Pocket is composed of two main parts, collecting and battling, which is to be expected. However, unlike games like Pokémon TCG Lite and the discontinued but never forgotten Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, which focus mainly on battling, Pokémon TCG Pocket goes the exact opposite route. This game focuses heavily on Gacha elements.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket focuses on collecting cards, with a unique battle system and new ways to acquire cards. It features new card types, such as impactful and immersive cards, to provide players with a brand new experience.

Early in the game, you’ll realize that you can keep opening 5-card booster packs. Once you have these cards, you can actually do more with them. Not only do you need more cards to build decks, but you can also make binders and display boards to show off the cards you really like. Additionally, getting more of the same card unlocks a “flair” for that specific card, which will change how they look in battle.

In Pokémon TCG Pocket, cards are primarily used to build battle decks, or to display in your collection, so collecting more cards not only fills up your collection, but also gives you an edge in battle!

  • Build Deck: You can open digital booster packs to collect cards, and exchange pack points for the cards you want. Once you have enough cards available, you can start building decks to battle against other players or the computer. Some Tool cards can also provide bonuses or buffs to your Pokémon.
  • Show Off Your Collection: Another important use of cards is to show off! You can create binders and display boards to show off your favorite cards or your rarest cards.
  • Trade Cards: You can also exchange cards for other items, and the development team plans to make more cards eligible for trading in the future.
  • Consume Cards: Consuming cards allows you to redeem them for other items. You can see what items you can redeem for a specific card by visiting Obtain Flair section.

How To Collect More Cards In Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket?

There are some really powerful and beautiful cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Normally, you can only open two packs per day, so collecting these cards is a slow process. Especially if you want to draw some of the better cards, you will have to rely on luck. The good news is that there are some ways that you can improve your odds of getting cards:

1. Open Booster Packs

The easiest way to collect cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket is, of course, to open booster packs. Every 12 hours, you can choose one booster pack to open for free. The pack stamina meter on the main screen of the game will show you how much time you have left before you can open the next pack. However, Pack Hourglasses and Poké Coins can be used to shorten that time.

2. Complete Daily Quests

If you want to get the best cards faster, then the best advice is to log in every day to complete your daily quests. This way you can get tickets, hourglasses and other items to help you skip the wait and draw more cards. Because more tickets means more hourglasses and Wonder Pick refills. This, in turn, means you’re drawing more cards at a faster rate and getting those Pack Points needed to complete your Pokedex. So everything is circular and will speed up your draw rate.

3. Redeem With Pack Points

Every time you open a new pack in Pokémon TCG Pocket, you’ll earn Pack Points, which you can redeem for specific cards in the game. While you may want to use these points immediately, the best strategy for using these points is to wait until your pack gives you more duplicate cards than new cards. That way, when you spend Pack Points on cards, you’re just using them to fill in the gaps and not getting a duplicate card.

4. Premium Pass

If you’re dedicated enough to the game and willing to spend some real money, Premium Pass also gives you more options. This gives you an extra pack per day, while also giving you access to premium quests. In addition, you’ll also earn gold tickets, which you can use to get any special illustration cards on offer. In total, the Premium Pass gives you access to 30 extra packs per month, which means more chances to get the best cards.

5. Wonder Pick

Wonder Pick lets you get cards from booster packs opened by friends and other players. This is a great way to collect cards with your favorite illustrations or powerful Ex Pokémon for use in your battle decks. When you enter the Wonder Pick screen, you will see multiple cards to choose from. If you see the card deck icon in the lower left corner of the card image, it means you already have that card in your collection.

These methods can indeed give you a lot of card options, but they take too long, which is not ideal for some players who just want to build a deck quickly and start fighting. In addition, the cards dropped by these methods are mostly some common cards that are not very common, so if you want to get some rare cards quickly, it is wisest to choose to buy them directly from a safe store. Currently, there are a variety of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket cards for sale on IGGM.com. No matter which one you are missing in your deck, you can find it here!

Pokémon TCG Pocket Best Metal Type Deck: Which One Is Worth Trying?

Pokémon TCG Pocket Best Metal Type Deck: Which One Is Worth Trying?

How’s it going, everyone? Have you found the best decks to build? Getting some special cards and knowing the best ways to play your deck is especially important if you want to open up more possibilities for your deck building. This guide can give you some new inspiration!

Here we’re taking a look at some Metal Type Deck that uses colorless energy from the new A2 Space-Time Smackdown set. There are quite a few Pokémon TCG Pocket Cards in this set that are sure to bring some fun and variety to the deck. They’re all powerful and very capable of winning consistently. Below, we’ll take a look at the decks and the best ways to play them that we found.

Dialga EX, Pidgeot EX, And Skarmory Deck

Our first deck is perfect for an aggressive start, and Pidgeot EX and Skarmory complement this Dialga EX deck. Skarmory can end the game quickly with Metal Arms and a Pokémon Tool, dealing 30 damage.

Skarmory can also set up Pidgeot or Dialga EX to close out the game. Likewise, Dialga with Metallic Turbo adds two steel energy to your bench, regardless of the card’s color type. It benefits countless deck builds and allows you to run a deck with more cards that have higher energy requirements.

In addition, since Dialga EX’s 150 HP is beyond the range of most fast damage openers, you have more turns and more options for bench builds.

We can also open with Dialga and then swap to Skarmory in the mid-game. This deck is very flexible in terms of getting ahead, making us very confident in any opening.

If facing a water deck, we tend to add a Giant Cape to Skarmory. We will then use Rocky Helmet to counter steel and fighting decks, as they usually want to attack early on.

Dialga EX And Mew EX Deck

Our next deck also features Dialga EX. However, we have made a small adjustment by running two Dawns in this deck. Since all of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Cards in this deck have a high energy cost, it makes sense to use Dawn so that we always have an option to move energy.

With so many decks now pushing for team synergy, we are now getting closer to achieving matches where both teams can draw out the entire deck. This will definitely help deck building and allow players to use specific cards that better suit their play style.

Dialga EX And Yanmega EX Decks

The third deck will still feature Dialga EX, but we will also add Yanmega EX. The key is to attach Rocky Helmet to Dialga so that you can push all the higher HP EXs into range to get closer to Yanmega or Melmetal.

Yanmega is enhanced by Dialga, using 3 energy to deal 120 damage with Air Slash. What’s more, if you attach Giant Cape, Yanmega’s HP will be pushed out of range for 150 attackers.

Here are two more decks to choose from for the rest of the deck. Melmetal works well here, but sometimes doesn’t have the damage output needed. Therefore, Mew EX might suit your needs.

With Mew, you can also add a Budding Expeditioner and another Dawn, which will allow you to start Mew without a Dialga start.

For this Yanmega/Dialga deck, you can also take out a Giovanni and add another Rocky Helmet, so that the helm does 20 damage and Giovanni does 10 damage.

Dialga EX, Mew EX, And Wormadam Deck

This next deck is a bit like a flip deck, but still deals sustained damage. Adding Wormadam to Mew EX and Dialga EX gives you a choice of leading damage dealers at all times.

Wormadam’s Iron Head does at least 50 damage, costs 2 energy, and has a chance to one-shot all frontline enemies with a flip RNG. This deck also has a lower retreat cost, making it easier to move cards around after the first few turns without needing too much extra energy.

Single Supporter Cards

You may have noticed that most of our decks now have more than just a few Single Supporter Cards, but the traditional Doubles that most decks go for in the early going to get higher odds. In fact, this will start to become the norm for most decks as games start to last more turns.

We do have Pokey Tools to thank for that though, they really help extend HP and protect against the extra damage from Rocky Helmet when players hesitate.

There are tons of options out there, and new Trainer Cards are constantly being added to the game, as well as Pokey Tools, so it definitely takes time to figure out which Supporter Cards are best for your play style. However, once you figure out which ones work best for you, stick with them. Whether you’re super aggressive or focus more on chip damage when building, there are now more cards to suit every player’s style.

All in all, our personal favorites among these Metal decks are Skarmory and Pidgeot EX, and this deck also feels like the most consistent. Which of these decks do you like? Try them out in battle, and you may find unexpected combinations and effects!
