What Is Path of Exile 2 Gold?
Gold first appeared in Path Of Exile as the main currency, and is the main resource that players need to perform multiple actions in POE 2. Whether it is obtaining items from vendors or respec skill points, you will need more and more of this gold to complete tasks.
What Does POE 2 Quick Gold Do?
Gold is a valuable resource in Path Of Exile 2. Some of the most useful things in the game can be obtained with gold, so having them can greatly speed up your game progress. Before understanding how to farm gold, let’s take a look at what you will use it for.
- Get Equipment: Since POE 2 Gold is the main currency used by Wraeclast vendors, including equipment vendors such as Renly in Clearfall Encampment, and professional vendors such as Una, who sell flasks in addition to various equipment, you can quickly get the equipment you want by spending gold.
- Gambling: If you want to gamble, you can also use Path Of Exile 2 Quick Gold to gamble with Finn. This NPC will display several pages of random equipment that you can spend money to obtain. Sometimes you might get a really bad item, but there’s also a chance you’ll get a rare item that proves useful. It’s all up to you!
- Respec Skill Points: The most important use for gold is to respec passive skill points, which can be done by completing Mysterious Shade quest at Hooded One in Clearfell Encampment. You gain one passive skill point per level, but if you want to go back to the drawing board and try a different path on the passive skill tree, you can use POE 2 gold to refund points one by one, and refunding a skill point costs about 250 gold.
How to Farm Gold Efficiently in Path of Exile 2?
With all of this in mind, let’s take a look at some of the best ways to earn gold in POE 2 to help you swim in gold.
- Killing Bosses: There are multiple ways to earn gold in Path Of Exile 2, but the easiest way is to kill all the enemies you encounter. Smaller enemies or monsters will drop less POE 2 gold, so you’ll be better off targeting enemies with gold in their names to farm more efficiently. They’re basically the bosses of the game.
- Clearing Maps: In the early game, you can also earn Path Of Exile 2 Gold by simply clearing the maps your most familiar with. Elite packs will usually give you hundreds of gold each, not to mention you can get more from any treasure chests you find along the way. The faster you clear a map, the more gold you’ll earn.
- Selling Items: Another better way to make money is by selling items to vendors. This includes some consumables, equipment, and loot that you don’t need. Selling items also keeps your inventory clean and organized, as too many useless items can keep you from getting the good loot you need to upgrade your gear.
- Opening Chests: Be sure to explore caches, treasure chests, and any other lootable areas on the map. Again, the higher the rarity of a cache or chest, the more gold you’ll get from it.
- Entering Secret Room: During the game, you may stumble upon a secret room, such as on the way to fight Draven in Mausoleum. This hidden room contains a lot of gold, and there are also some chests containing gold and items. However, since the area is randomly generated, there is no guarantee that you will find one of these rooms.
If you are not interested in these time-consuming and laborious methods, the most common method for most exiles is to buy POE 2 Gold from a reliable third-party supplier.
What Are The Advantages of Buying POE 2 Gold Directly?
We understand the necessity of having gold coins, so is it necessary to spend real money to get gold coins directly? What advantages will this bring to us?
- Save Time: First of all, I believe that no player wants to spend more time in the game to complete boring and repetitive grinding, and directly obtaining POE 2 Gold allows you to abandon these links and save more time for interesting challenges.
- Speed Up The Game Process: Gold coins, as an important resource in Path Of Exile 2, can be used to obtain items from suppliers and optimize your character’s skill tree. Therefore, having more gold coins can easily catch up with old players who have already spent a lot of time.
- Enhanced Interaction: You can also use POE 2 Gold to send gifts or virtual messages to other players, greatly enhancing the social function experience in the game.

Path of Exile 2 Race Qualifiers for the Finals on ExileCon 2026: Win Coliseum Helmet Attachment without Even Competing!
Beyond the upcoming Gamescom 2026, ExileCon 2026, taking place in November, is undoubtedly the major event that Path of Exile 1 and 2 players should be most excited about!
In addition to the announcement of the latest news, ExileCon 2026 will feature various in-person events, including the race finals. To determine the competitors for the finals, Path of Exile 2 race qualifiers are currently in full swing!
Beyond just qualifying for the finals, securing first place in a qualifier earns you incredible prizes that go far beyond your expectations! Read on to ensure you don't miss out!

Race qualifier schedule
Path of Exile 2 race qualifier series consists of four races, held every other week. The third race, scheduled for August 20, is currently underway. The full schedule is as follows (PDT):
- Qualifier 1: August 6, 2 PM
- Qualifier 2: August 13, 2 PM
- Qualifier 3: August 20, 2 PM
- Qualifier 4: August 27, 2 PM
If you missed the first two races or didn't achieve the results you wanted, we recommend setting your device's time zone to PDT to avoid missing future events due to time differences and participating as soon as a new qualifier begins.
Participation rules and rewards
Path of Exile 2 ExileCon 2026 race qualifiers are open to all players for free. You can join the active race at any time during Qualifier 1-4 period, and the event supports both PC and console platforms.
While the participation rules are straightforward, there are specific requirements for claiming the ultimate prizes.
Most importantly, only the first-place winner of each race receives the grand prize; if you win any of the first three qualifiers, you are ineligible to participate in subsequent races.
To avoid disqualification or having your results voided, you must adhere to basic game rules, link your PoE 2 account to Twitch, and ensure your entire run is streamed live on that platform.
One easily overlooked detail regarding PoE 2 race qualifiers is the mandatory 16:9 aspect ratio requirement; altering this setting, intentionally or otherwise, will result in disqualification and a game account ban.
Additionally, if you secure first place but are unable to utilize ExileCon 2026 in-person event rewards (including the ticket, accommodation, and flights) for personal reasons, these benefits will be transferred to the runner-up; you do not have the right to dispose of them yourself.
The specific prize list is as follows:
- Flights to Auckland, New Zealand for ExileCon 2026
- Accommodation during ExileCon 2026
- Entry into PoE 2 ExileCon 2026 Race Finals
- ExileCon 2026 Super VIP Ticket
- Demigod's Virtue Golden Visage Unique Helmet (in-game virtual item)

What do the qualifiers entail?
PoE 2 ExileCon 2026 race qualifiers 1-4 take place within the game's current Runes of Aldur league. You must create a new character from scratch in SSF mode, complete Acts 1 through 4 as quickly as possible, and be the first to defeat Act 4 boss, Tavakai.
Solo Self-Found mode means that during the qualifier, you cannot engage in any form of partying, trading, or borrowing of resources. All gear, gems, and other items must be farmed independently.
Fixing the map layout to Runes of Aldur configuration significantly minimizes the impact of random map generation on the race's progression and outcome.
It is important to note that while the race is not Hardcore, a unique penalty mechanism has been introduced to balance speed-running against the risks of high-pressure gameplay: if your character dies during the race, they will be forcibly frozen in place for 2.5 minutes.
Since there can be only one winner, speed and efficiency are paramount, making it crucial to avoid death at all costs. Even a single freeze penalty could be enough to completely dash your hopes of victory.
If you haven't participated in a qualifier yet, consider joining IGGM PoE Facebook Group to connect with experienced players. There are also PoE 1 & 2 currency giveaways currently underway, definitely worth checking out!
Strategies for a fast run
Beyond the challenging boss fights, efficiently clearing the standard paths and enemies across the first four acts of Path of Exile 2 is crucial for improving your completion speed.
To this end, it is recommended that you practice repeatedly before the race begins. You should accurately memorize the locations of all key quest items and waypoints across the four acts, building muscle memory to avoid inefficient routing during the actual competition.
Additionally, since currency is limited in SSF mode, you must select the most suitable gear based on the specific build-crafting needs of each stage. Prioritize rerolling items to obtain modifiers related to movement speed, base damage, and core resistances.
As the boss marking the final stage of the run, Tavakai the Chieftain serves as a rigorous test of both your Path of Exile 2 race qualifier build's strength and your own mechanical skill ceiling.
This boss features multiple phase transitions and AoE clearing skills; therefore, you must stack sufficient specific elemental resistances and physical damage mitigation before entering the fight.
Furthermore, the encounter involves constantly spawning dangerous minions and environmental hazard zones created by Tavakai's AoE attacks, placing high demands on your positioning and your ability to handle different types of incoming damage.
Qualifiers Twitch Drop and more tips
Path of Exile 1 race qualifiers are expected to begin shortly after Path of Exile 2 qualifiers conclude. If you are familiar with both games but fail to achieve your desired results in Path of Exile 2 event, be sure to keep an eye out for updates and participate in Path of Exile 1 qualifiers.
Even if you lack the confidence or interest to participate in the race qualifiers yourself, you shouldn't ignore the event entirely. Instead, once a qualifier begins, watch Path of Exile 2 streams on Twitch that have Drops Enabled tag.
By watching for just 30 minutes, you can earn Coliseum Helmet Attachment drop reward and automatically unlock eligibility to claim it.
To successfully add the item to your game account, ensure your Path of Exile 2 account is linked to your Twitch account, and remember to manually click Claim on Twitch Inventory page after meeting the viewing time requirement.
Likewise, corresponding Twitch Drop rewards will be available when Path of Exile 1 race qualifiers begin, don't miss out on those either!
Path of Exile 2 Rarity Guide: How Does It Affect Loot Value, Builds, and Farming?
Rarity mechanic in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5 has once again become a focal point of discussion in the player community. Some players believe that rarity simply provides an additional reward option, which can be chosen not to use.
However, the issue is not so simple. When rarity can reliably increase loot value, it actually affects farming choices, build design, and even the entire trade league's economic environment.

This guide will analyze how rarity mechanic in Path of Exile 2 actually affects loot value, and how the developers should adjust this issue in Return of the Ancients.
What is Rarity?
Rarity can appear on Waystones, Tablets, and Atlas Passives, as well as on Amulets, Rings, Helmets, and other equipment. It doesn't simply increase the number of POE 2 items you drop; rather, it increases the value of the resulting loot.
For example, if PoE 2 system has already decided to drop a currency, rarity will affect the subsequent outcome, making it easier for that drop to upgrade into a high-value currency.
The same logic applies to equipment. Ordinary equipment might upgrade to Magic, Magic might become Rare, and Rare might even become Unique.
This is the difference between Quantity and Value in Path of Exile 2. The same drop can have completely different economic value because of rarity.
Gear
Rarity itself isn't entirely without value. If rarity appears on Waystones, Tablets, or Atlas Passives, it's actually quite reasonable because these PoE 2 systems are designed to allow players to adjust their farming methods, letting different players change map rewards according to their needs.
What truly dissatisfies many players is that rarity has been placed in Path of Exile 2 gear system. Gear is supposed to serve Characters, Affixes, Modifiers, and Builds. You choose a piece of equipment to gain damage, defense, speed, or other attributes that enhance your build.
But now, if rarity consistently provides additional benefits, you have to consider whether to sacrifice attributes that originally belonged to your build to make room for rarity. This becomes an additional building tax.
The problem with rarity is that it doesn't require you to invest more time to gain benefits, but it provides more value to PoE 2 players who have rarity, given the same farming, the same characters, and the same game content.
Mechanic
Some players believe that if you don't like rarity, you should choose to farm mechanics that don't rely on rarity, such as Ritual or Trial of Chaos.
However, even if the rewards of a particular PoE 2 mechanic aren't directly affected by rarity, you'll still kill other monsters while completing that content, and rarity can still affect the loot from those monsters.
More importantly, if a certain farming method becomes significantly more profitable because of the existence of rarity, players who don't use rarity are effectively forced to reduce their choices.
For example, if you like a particular Mechanic, but the optimal farming method for that Mechanic requires a large amount of rarity, you either need to adjust your build to pursue higher returns or abandon your preferred farming method and choose another playstyle better suited for maximizing profits. This will gradually solidify the originally open PoE 2 farming system.
Besides farming in-game resources, registered IGGM users can also earn rewards through daily check-in. The points earned can be used for cash discounts or redeemed for IGGM Coupons, helping players get currency at a better price.
Build
One player suggested another solution: if you don't want to use rarity, allocate all your gear to Power, compensating for the profit gap with faster Clear Speed and higher Content Difficulty.
This idea itself isn't problematic. If PoE 2 allows for a true trade-off between power and rarity, then choosing between stronger characters and higher Loot Value might actually be a reasonable system.
However, the current problem is that some PoE 2 builds can have both power and rarity simultaneously. This means players don't necessarily need to choose between the two.
Players who find suitable gear and builds can continue to clear content quickly while enjoying the additional benefits of rarity. This makes the theory of compensating for rarity with a stronger build difficult to truly hold.
And once this disparity in benefits affects build choices, the problem becomes even more complex. If a build can easily incorporate rarity without significantly sacrificing power, then that build has an additional advantage.
Conversely, if another build heavily relies on certain affixes, and incorporating rarity directly leads to a decrease in damage, defense, or other core abilities, then that build becomes more disadvantageous in the current PoE 2 Patch 0.5 environment.
Path of Exile 2 was supposed to allow for diverse builds, but if a particular attribute persists in gear competition, we need to consider whether a build can incorporate rarity without sacrificing too much combat power.
This results in some potentially fun PoE 2 builds being excluded from Return of the Ancients Meta because they can't be properly integrated into rarity, ultimately affecting build variety.

Trade League
As long as you participate in Trade League, rarity issue is difficult to ignore. How much Path of Exile 2 Currency other players acquire affects supply and demand; how quickly they acquire gear and currency also affects the market; and the extra wealth they gain from heavily using rarity also enters the overall economy.
Therefore, you can ignore rarity, but you can't completely prevent it from affecting your game. Every trade and every currency exchange can be influenced by the overall PoE 2 economic environment.
How to adjust?
If Path of Exile 2 developers want players to have different progression options than offense and defense, they should design a new system instead of making rarity a mandatory attribute for all players seeking higher returns.
More importantly, if base drops are inherently inadequate, PoE 2 developers should directly adjust the base drop rate, rather than lowering overall returns and then compensating some players with rarity. Otherwise, rarity will cease to be an optional affix and become a necessity affecting economic efficiency.
The developers have already adjusted currency drops, indicating that base drops can be improved through balancing. As PoE 2 continues to update, loot balance and farming strategies will constantly develop.
If you want to stay up-to-date with the latest PoE 2 update news and build guides, join IGGM PoE 1+2 Facebook Group. We are currently hosting limited-time giveaways where lucky players can win a free Mirror of Kalandra.
In Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5, rarity can hardly continue to be considered a regular optional affix. Its impact extends beyond loot drops; it affects the entire game's freedom of gameplay. In Return of the Ancients, only when rarity returns to its position as an option rather than a necessity can PoE 2 maintain its emphasis on build variety and farming freedom.
