While you can now collect materials with ease on your mount in Dragonflight, it's actually quite time consuming to collect mining nodes or gathering herbs around the Dragon Isles. Therefore, before collecting, you need to know some tips in advance. This way, you will know exact information like when you can start mining from dragonback etc.

What you need to know is that whether you are miners or herbalists, you can ride your dragonriding mounts to collect all nodes. If you are miners, the first thing you have to do is upgrade your profession to level 25. Only in this way can your ability be unlocked. You can upgrade mining by mining Serevite, Draconium, and Khaz'gorite. Once you reach level 25, the next thing you have to do is choose the right specialization. You can unlock special abilities by observing the map, then navigating directly to the Mining Process tree and putting all 35 knowledge points into the Mining Process talent.

Specifically, profession specializations help you upgrade these stats further and unlock special abilities, like mining ore while staying mounted. There are a few things you need to pay attention to here. First, you can only use Dragonriding mounts. Second, the special ability that you can mine while riding a mount is only available on the Dragon Isles.

Similar to the mining process, if herbalists want to gather herbs from their dragonriding mounts, they must upgrade the herbalism level to 25 and prepare 40 knowledge points in advance. Once herbalists have successfully unlocked the specialization trees, they will navigate directly to the Botany talent tree. Then put all the 40 knowledge points prepared in advance into the Botany talent. Of course, gathering herbs can only use Dragonriding mounts and these mounts can only be used on the Dragon Isles.
