Source: IGGMWelcome to the World of Warcraft survival guide for patch 10.2 Guardians of the Dream. Here, we’ll try to make it sound like what you’ll do in this patch is any different from the last ones.
When you first log in, you’ll be asked to complete an initial round of quest before you start your race to run out of things to do.
Loyal players will already have done this during patch 10.1.7 and can immediately travel to the fun stuff. The rest of you will need to catch up. So enjoy the fomo, and we’ll be judging you along the way!
New Zone: Emerald Dream
It’s been a long road. But at last players will be able to enter the Emerald Dream, the often talked about the mysterious realm of Azeroth.
You’ll get to see a slice of it, just like the realms of the Shadowlands, your favorite expansion.
The Emerald Dream is home to new creatures. You’ll meet with all two familiar 3D skeletons, taking new otherworldly environments never seen before on WarCraft outside of Ashenvale, Darkshore, Mount Hyjal, Moonglade, Valeera, Ardenweald, Teldrassil and the Firelands.
Evil forces are out to destroy the world tree and it’s up to the champions of Azeroth and their lowly allies to save the day. Cross your fingers. Maybe this time it’ll actually work out.
How To Complete Your Quest?
To help you on your quest, you can opt to pick up powerful amazing abilities in a new neverbefore announced max level progression system.
To get started, open the shop. Select the Power Bundle. If you didn’t want borrowed power or chores to do, here’s what you get instead - nothing. If you just want to get straight into raids, run dungeons, and PVP, that’s all you need to do. That’s the only thing there is to do.
For the rest of you paying us to pretend to be real gamers, there’s a new set of fun zone activities like waiting while a tree walks in a big circle, waiting while planting seeds, and waiting for the tree to walk in a circle again.
More New
There’s also a transmog set, a renown track, a round of rares, mounts and pets all wrapped up in a series of layered systems designed to have you living in the zone, spending dozens of hours exploring and collecting so literally zero content.
The gear upgrade system is returning in 10.2 and it looks like it’s here to stay with a few tweaks. However, no matter what kind of adjustment, you must prepare enough WOW Dragonflight Gold to easily upgrade your equipment!
Crest will now sit in the currency tab, freeing up inventory space, which is clearly your highest priority. We cleaned up requirements and rebalance the pacing of gearing so we can improve our time play metrics.
We have a brand new lineup of armor sets to collect, themed after both your class and the upcoming raid.
New Raid: Amirdrassil, The Dream’s Hope
One week after the preseason, the real content arrives.
Take your friends and the faceless pugs to Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope. Face off against nine epic bosses and defend the world tree each week until the middle of 2024.
Also new to the season, raid finder will be opening on a faster schedule because as it turns out, you’re human beings with needs.
We’ve heard your feedback that you might not be happy. This could be the last major raid of Dragonflight. We’ve also heard your feedback that you’re tired of this woke expansion and want to move on. So, make up your freaking mind.
Mythic+ Season 3
There’s a new Mythic+ season. We’ve heard your feedback about wanting regular static flying and we’ve ignored it. In patch 10.2, we still are.
A new Pathfinder achievement is being added in the patch to show that you’ve been playing the game as intended. And by that, I mean our way because we decide what’s fun.
The upcoming PVP season is the same as ever, but we’re excited to give you something new that you’ve been asking for.
