Source: IGGMMounts have always been an important part of World of WarCraft series, and Season of Discovery is no exception. Therefore, getting a mount in SoD Phase 2 is definitely one of the major goals of every player.
Fortunately, players have far more options for Mounts in WoW Classic Season of Discovery than ever before. Because the developers are adding more mounts for the new season, while also making some existing mounts more accessible once the requirements are met.
In addition to the faction mounts that have been in the game for decades, players who complete objectives during each phase’s PVP events will also receive new mounts added to the game. Therefore, there are many options when it comes to getting mounts in WOW Classic SOD Phase 2.
In this guide, we’re going to talk about all the mounts you’ve got so far in Season of Discovery, and how to get each one. Getting the right mount can greatly improve your gaming experience and speed up your progress. So, let’s take a look!
Battle For Ashenvale World Event Mounts
Horde and Alliance players can each obtain one type of mount in Battle for Ashenvale World Event in Phase 1, namely Trainee’s Outrider Wolf and Trainee’s Sentinel Nightsaber.
Horde can get this mount by reaching Friendship with Warsong Outriders, while Alliance players need to reach Friendship with Silverwing Sentinels. Once you reach the required reputation level with both factions, you can purchase your mount for 10 WOW Classic SOD Gold.
With the popularity of Battle for Ashenvale declining significantly after the end of SoD Phase 1, the surest way to gain a reputation with Warsong Outriders and Silverwing Sentinels is to compete in Warsong Gulch battleground.
Blood Moon World PVP Event Mounts
Season of Discovery Phase 2 introduces two new mounts, Mottled Blood Raptor and Golden Sabercat. Both can be purchased from Gurubashi Bloodchanger Mai’zin NPC for one Gold Blood Coins each.
Both of these mounts require you to do some extensive PVP during Stranglethorn Vale’s Blood Moon event, which will only be current content for Phase 2 this season.
We recommend doing this activity as often as possible so that you can obtain at least one of these two mounts efficiently and confidently.
Racial Mounts
Every player in the game has access to a library of mounts based on the race they selected during character creation. These mounts will become available when the level cap is increased to level 40 in SoD Phase 2.
WOW Classic requires players to be level 40 to use ground mounts, and level 60 to use swift ground mounts, which double the character’s speed while riding.
You can visit the mount vendor for your race and purchase one of these mounts. He’s almost always near the first town you start in. Racial mounts cost 80 gold to purchase initially, but you can get a discount if you reach Honored in your faction.
With the addition of Discoverer’s Delight 100% XP Buff to the game on March 5th, the amount of gold earned in SoD has reached an all-time high. This makes it easier than ever to catch up and get the gold you need to buy a mount. So, get your favorite mount and start your adventure now!
