Source: IGGMSilk Cloth serves as one of the basic reagents for Tailoring recipes in the mid-section of WoW Classic. In Season of Discovery, it is also an extremely valuable crafting material that can be used to craft some of the best endgame items.
Not only that, but many of the recipes you encounter in level 125 Tailoring in Season of Discovery require you to have some Silk Cloth. So here we are going to talk about how and where to farm Silk Cloth most efficiently in WOW Season of Discovery.
Silk Cloth was one of the most valuable items during WoW SoD Phase 1, and will certainly require a skilled player to enter the world and brave relatively high-level monsters that may drop the material.
So you’ll definitely want to stock up on it, whether you’re using it to craft gear or selling it on Auction House to earn WOW Classic SOD Gold.
Best Silk Cloth Farming Spots
Basically, the best places to farm Silk Cloth are not encountered until the very end of Season of Discovery Phase 1. You’ll start encountering Silk Cloth farms at level 25, and only around this level can you begin to effectively find locations around the open world that produce Silk Cloth at an acceptable rate.
Since Season of Discovery only allowed players to level up to level 25 in Phase 1, some of Silk Cloth-rich open world areas might be a little difficult to traverse.
The best area for farming Silk Cloth is Thousand Needles in the southern part of Kalimdor Zone. This area has many mobs between level 23 and 29, which can be farmed during the first level-banded endgame of Season of Discovery.
These mobs also have a very high respawn rate. The more times you kill them, the more times they will respawn. However, they are also weak, so they will die quickly because of low health and armor. The mob numbers are really good and therefore the chances of getting resources are better.
We recommend using Galak Scouts and Galak Wranglers in the northern part of the area near coordinates [49, 41] as they always drop the most Silk Cloth.
If you are an Alliance player, you can reach Thousand Needles through the area around Dustwallow Marsh. If you are a Horde player, we recommend that you go from the area near Barrens.
Alternative farm locations in the open world include Syndicate mobs in the southeast corner of Hillsbrad Foothills, Venture Co. Quest in the middle of Stranglethorn Vale, and Boulderfist Ogre in Alterac Mountains.
But be aware that these farming locations can be difficult to extract Silk Cloth effectively if you don’t have powerful gear or at least raise the level cap.
Is It Worth Farming Silk Cloth In Dungeon During Phase 1?
In Season of Discovery, dungeons are a relatively efficient place to farm Silk Cloth. And many high-end instances of Phase 1 produce solid stacks of cloth.
Therefore, we recommend running dungeons such as Stockade, Razorfen Kraul, and Scarlet Monastery during this phase to get Silk Cloth fairly quickly. While the difficulty of these first stage dungeons may outweigh the rewards, it’s still a great way to farm items efficiently and kill some time.
Although farming Silk Cloth is one of the most tedious tasks in WOW Season of Discovery. However, knowing the correct farming locations and stocking up on enough resources will give you a trump card.
