  • Honkai Star Rail: Is Luocha Worth Pulling? - Luocha Pre-Release Analysis And Builds

    Posted: Jun 25, 2023

Here is a pre-release discussion about Luocha. Since he’s just a few days away from officially launching, we’re going to check out everything there is to know about him.

I did some preliminary calculations on him and we’ll explain why you want to pull him. Because he has the best 4-star team and Light Cone Banner. Then we’ll discuss his approach and his strengths and weaknesses. Including his best possible build, as well as some synergies and team compositions.

First, if you go for Meta value, Luocha is a very capable healer with some incredible utility and some decent damage. If you want to see how he’s doing, you can wait a day or two for someone to pull him with clickbait. I believe his presence can enhance the value of any Honkai Star Rail Accounts, even those of Bailu and Gepard, as he can thrive in multiple niches.

    Best 4-Star Team

His best 4-star team is as follows. Qingque, a powerful side DPS that scales well to the main DPS starting at E4, and her Eidolons are fantastic.

Pela, a strong debuffer with some decent Sub DPS damage, and shares buff removal with Luocha in her kit. She has a great game and has played well on many teams. But she doesn’t need Eidolons that much. E4 boosting Mono Ice is her best choice.

Yukong, an interesting new 4-Star Harmony unit. He can boost the crit chance and crit damage of allies, and has some great sub DPS damage.

His 5-Star Light Cone works just fine for him. It will grant him an attack and some energy help so you can get more healing by replacing Energy Rope, as well as a team speed buff from the ultimate. That’s fine for him, but there’s no need to pull anything.

    Banner

The 4 stars on his Banner are as follows. Good Night and Sleep Well. This is one of the best Nihility Light Cones in the game, with an insane DPS boost to all Nihility units.

Dance! Dance! Dance! is a powerful Harmony alternative when you don’t need Meshing Cogs or Memories of the Past. It will bring progress to every Ultimate for the entire team. Also, Geniuses’ Repose is a weak conditional Erudition Light Cone.

    Skills

Luocha is a 5-Star Imaginary Abundance unit. Abundance characters are dedicated healers.

His normal attacks are standard and only deal damage. His ability is a powerful heal for a single target. This skill is automatically cast whenever any member of your party drops below half health. Once every 2 turns, no off-field skill points are required, and the skill will clear one debuff from that ally.

His Ultimate is an area damage ability that removes 1 boon from all enemies. When his Talents are not active, his Abilities and Ultimates give him Abyss Flower stacks. When stacked to tier 2, he will deploy his field of Talents.

When all allies attack an enemy, the area heals them less than the ability. Attackers will get a large single-target heal, while all allies will get a smaller area-of-effect heal. Since it’s also per-enemy, more enemies hit means more healing.

As for Traces and Eidolons, and the full multiplier, that’ll have to wait until Luocha’s official release.

    Pros And Cons

Let’s see all his pros and cons. So first we have the incredible cure. My preliminary calculations show that his healing is very satisfactory for a solo sustain unit.

Next, we have simple build requirements. He has a lot of free Light Cone options, and Gacha doesn’t require any stacks. He also has amazing base stats and a low energy drain. As one of the three current Imaginary units, he can get more breakthroughs against those nasty Imaginary enemies.

Finally, he has excellent skill point generation. His rotation doesn’t require skill unless someone’s playing very low, so his SP is very aggressive and suitable for almost any team.

We lack a definitive cure for his flaws. Bailu and Natasha can use their Ultimates to heal a lot. If Luocha’s force field was up, he could heal with his ult, but it doesn’t.

Because he’ll be using his Ultimate during the normal run of the field. This means the only emergency heals you can get are his abilities, which come every 2 turns, or Ultimate, which deals damage to allies during his battle time. You can mitigate this, though, by gaining some defensive sub-stats.

Next, his speedup times are annoying if you don’t use his Techniques. His Talents will have two rounds of downtime, so I suggest you only use his Techniques. This means Talents skills and Ultimate during normal operation are a big no-no.

    Team

For team games, he can play almost anywhere. So far, I don’t think he can be on Arlan’s team because Arlan wants to stay low. He’ll give any team a solo sustain role, meaning you won’t need protection unless the boss is that powerful.

I believe Mono Imaginary will work really well with Luocha. He’s an imaginary healer and solo sustain unit, so all you need is a DPS and a support.

Anyway, that’s all my thoughts on Luocha ahead of its release. Do you think he is worth your pull? What do you think of him? I hope that Luocha’s press conference will bring us surprises.

  • Honkai Star Rail: Which Character Is More Worthy Of Your Pull? - Kafka, Luocha & Blade Analysis

    Posted: Jun 21, 2023

Are you looking at guides day in and day out to see who really deserves your pick? Or are you still saving gems for some questionable reason?

So today I will introduce the next three roles, Kafka, Luocha, Blade. We’ll discuss what new things they’re bringing to Honkai Star Rail, and how they’re going to change the meta.

What Does Luocha Do? & Why To Pull Him?

Luocha is our next 5-star character, arriving on June 28th. He is an Imaginary Abundance unit. He can heal allies or deal AOE Imaginary damage. What he brings to Honkai Star Rail is a whole new kind of treatment.

Natasha and Bailu are outside of their ults and only heal when it’s their turn. But Luocha will heal, as long as you have his Talent. Luocha can heal with his skills, and any ally’s attack will heal your team a little. Just like Fire Trailblazer, this means you can plug in an ally’s Ultimate to heal your entire team.

Your DPS one shooting abilities will provide team utility when Luocha is on the field. And of course, his healing skills are powerful, too. And he also offers Cleansing, which Bailu doesn’t.

His Ultimate also has the best AOE buff removal in the game, and it is twice as high as Pela’s single-target buff removal. He offers massive utility on top of massive healing. His healing also scales with his attacks, meaning he can pack a little DPS on top of the rest.

If you lack Bailu or Gepard, then I would recommend you to choose Luocha. His pull value is very high. Even with Bailu, he brought a lot of things that she couldn’t.

Also, Imaginary units are very rare. It’s great that Luocha has that option compared to other Imaginary-Weak characters, and Imaginary Break can be very useful in delaying enemies and slowing them down.

For those strong enemy damage buffs, his extra Imaginary Break, Cleansing, and enemy buff removal should allow your team to survive tough content pretty well.

What Does Kafka Do? & Why To Pull Her?

Next, let’s discuss Kafka. She is a Lightning Nihility unit. What she brings to Honkai Star Rail is a DoT detonation, which means she can trigger damage over time effects that deal damage instantly. This will solve a major problem for DoT teams.

With Kafka, their damage takes effect on every turn of Kafka. She also provides her own damage over time, at a very high rate.

Finally, she has strong Toughness damage, and her gear is purely damage-based with some follow-through. She’s definitely going to shake up the meta, as having her can introduce more team changes by enabling any current and future DoT characters.

If you don’t like DoT style of play, then Kafka might not be for you. But since she changed how DoTs work, you might like having her DoTs on your roster.

If you really like DoT, then she is a must pull. She’s going to make these teams more fun and very dynamic. She’s not a standard hypercarry like Seele or Jing Yuan, but a strong DPS. She can deliver insane damage depending on your teammates.

She will also appear alongside Luka. We expect Luka to provide some physical DoT effects as a Physical Nihility unit. Remember Break DoT can also be detonated by Kafka. As the game progresses, Kafka will get better and better. Because any future OP DoT characters or Break Characters will expand with her.

What Does Blade Do? & Why To Pull Him?

Finally came Blade. What he brings to Honkai Star Rail is a new form of DPS. Clara can counter it and even heal it with some Light Cones.

Blade will voluntarily sacrifice his health, then deal some baffling damage, and accumulate charges to restore all health. His damage will be the first HP scaling damage. His gear will revolve around enhancing his base attacks through his skills and draining HP. A tank hit at the same time gives the enemy another round of slashing.

His abilities boost his base attack for a few turns, meaning his skill points are highly efficient. Even he can be a secondary DPS that can heal himself without taking almost any SP for the primary DPS.

He can also be a main DPS, so he’s pretty versatile already. Blade will enable the new Destruction team Archetypes. In this Archetype, you don’t do any protection, just tank damage and have a healer by your side.

This technically means that Preservation units work against him, and he does no damage. So if you don’t like an adventurous playstyle, his value may be reduced. If you already have a Hypercarry, the new DPS pull value is also reduced.

But he offers strong coverage of Wind element, and will be the most powerful DPS as well. So he can fill the role of Clara, as a character who can deal a lot of damage.

    Small Summary On Their Value

All in all, Luocha is the most versatile healer. If you want to challenge Memory of Chaos and Bailu or Gepard pull him. However, he still thrives with them on your Honkai Star Rail Account.

Kafka will enable a whole new type of teams, DoT teams, by solving their fundamental problems. She’ll provide a lot of DPS on her own, but her damage will really come from the teammates you bring in. If you like DoTs or Kafka, or want some DPS, she’s a great pick.

In the end, Blade has the least pull value, as most of us probably pulled Seele or Jing Yuan. However, he can thrive in team combinations without preservation units and has versatility.

He can also be used to run enemy stages solo if you like. Don’t forget him if you want a whole new type of DPS.

  • Honkai Star Rail 1.1: Which Character Is Worth Your Pull? - Silver Wolf VS Luocha

    Posted: Jun 08, 2023

As Honkai Star Rail 1.1 has just been updated, it means that Silver Wolf and Luocha are the two characters who receive the most attention at this time. Therefore, I will introduce these two roles to you in detail. Let’s start by taking a look at the two new 5-star characters in Honkai Star Rail 1.1.

    Silver Wolf

Silver Wolf first appeared on her Banner titled “Contract Zero”. She is a Quantum support character following Path of Nihility. She can inflict weaknesses on enemies, making for an amazing addition to any team you put her on.

When she uses her abilities, she applies weaknesses to enemies she attacks. The type of weakness will match at least one other member of your team. Utilizing her ult reduces the defense of a single target in addition to dealing damage, and each attack implants a random “bug” in the enemy that reduces their attack, defense, or speed.

These abilities make Silver Wolf an amazing supporting character. Get 100% rest coverage on whatever team you put her on. This makes events like Memory of Chaos more manageable, as you’ll be able to smash shields quickly.

The character of Silver Wolf will also get better as time goes on. Especially when we start seeing more Quantum characters and can start running single Quantum teams to make sure enemies always have Quantum weaknesses.

    Luocha

Luocha first appeared on his Banner titled “Laic Pursuit”. He is an Imaginary healer, following Path of Abundance.

His skills can restore a large amount of HP to a single ally. The healing amount is 40% of Luocha’s attack power plus 200 points, and a layer of passive skill, “Abyss Flower” is obtained. When an ally is below 50% health, the same healing will automatically trigger on them, happening every 2 turns.

His ult deals damage and dispels an enemy boon. Every time we dispel a buff, he will gain a stack of the passive skill “Abyss Flower”. When Luocha gains 2 stacks of Abyss Flower, he will consume the stacks to deploy an Abyss Flower on the field.

When an ally attacks an enemy within range, the ally heals for 14% of Luocha’s attack power plus 70. This field lasts for 2 rounds. He can actively and passively heal your team, making him currently the only character in Honkai Star Rail with comparable healing skills to Bailu.

The passive healing he provides does not require skill points to activate. So he’s a perfect fit for our current active 5 stars, Seele and Jing Yuan, who are skill point negative characters. This means they require more skill points than they generate. Next, let’s focus on the 4-star characters on their Banner.

    Silver Wolf 4 Stars

Silver Wolf banner features Dan Heng, Asta and Serval. Dan Heng and Serval can be great DPS units for free-to-play players. While Asta is an invaluable support, she rose to fame in the higher tiers of Memory of Chaos.

    Luocha 4 Stars

Luocha Banner has Pela, Qingque and Yukong. Pela is another recurring character in Memory of Chaos, offering the ability to dispel enemy buffs. And Qingque is an excellent Quantum DPS, especially for those without Seele. And Yukong can buff the attack and crit of allies, making her have the same team buffer as Tingyun.

    Who Should You Pull?

Having said that, the 4-star characters in Silver Wolf Banner can all be obtained for free through normal play. So instead of adding any new people to your team, you’ll get Eidolons for each character.

In contrast, 4 stars in Luocha Banner offer 2 characters you can only get in Warps, Pela and Yukong. Therefore, many players will only use Natasha as a non-primary character to enrich them.

And Luocha emerged as a very clear winner in Honkai Star Rail 1.1. He’s such a powerful healer that can make your time in Memory of Chaos even better. If you have the outfits of Natasha and Bailu, as a free player, you can consider pulling Silver Wolf first. But even so, Luocha is superior to them to heal.

    Outro

The choice is to build your team around your personal favorite characters. I’m just here to give you a guideline and provide some insight into these banners. You can choose a new Honkai Star Rail Account to try out these two characters to give you a more concrete feeling. Good luck.
