  • MLB The Show 24: Predictions For The Upcoming Roster Attributes Update 4 In Season 2 - Possible New Diamond Tier Players

    Posted: Jun 27, 2024

As you all know, Attributes-focused Roster Updates in MLB The Show 24 Season 2 will take place on Friday, June 28th, making this the 4th Attributes Update of the season.

Roster Attributes Update 4 takes into account players’ real-life performance to upgrade or downgrade their OVR and attributes. With the update approaching, let’s predict which players’ attributes and ratings will change in this Roster Update, and which players will reach Diamond tier!

Not only will this bring us more fun, but more importantly, if you have a new card that is promoted to Diamond tier, you will be able to earn a lot of MLB The Show 24 Stubs or use it to upgrade your team. Let’s get started!

    Garrett Crochet

As the 11th overall pick in the professional sports draft, Garrett Crochet is under a lot of pressure, and despite being a 94 overall card, his career has not gotten off to a great start.

On a team with an AL-worst 4.78 ERA, Crochet pitched to a 3.25 ERA, which is consistent with his 6-6 record. More importantly, Crochet’s 124 strikeouts are second only to Tyler Glasnow in MLB rankings. For now, his appearance in Diamond tier of Attributes Update may be the best chance for fans to see his potential.

    Steven Kwan

Next, open your roster and get ready to add a name, Steven Kwan. Kwan is 15-for-32 in spring training with two walks and zero strikeouts, as his ability to get his bat to any pitch is simply amazing.

Not to mention he hit the ball in his first 26 swings this season. Although he is not good at hitting home runs, he has hit 9 hits in 19 at-bats, including 2 doubles and 1 triple. He didn’t hit the ball all over the place, nor did he play for extra bases, and he showed the patience and selectivity of a veteran.

I will also tell you that this player has reached base 15 times in four games with an on-base percentage of .789. His batting average is .692 and his slugging percentage is 1.000. And according to ESPN data, he has reached base 15 times in the first four games of his career, which is the most played by a major league player since 1901. Therefore, he is very likely to appear in this Diamond tier player card list!

    Royce Lewis

Minnesota Twins have some promising players in Bullpen and Infielder lineup, and at the top of the list is Royce Lewis. The 24-year-old American is entering his third season with Twins, and his infielding abilities are only the tip of the iceberg of his potential.

In MLB The Show 24, Lewis has good infielding metrics, as well as good Reacting and Arm Accuracy, but lacks the durability to keep him going for longer than nine innings.

Offensively, Lewis performs better against right-handed pitchers, where he can use his contact or power swing and change his strategy to deceive opponents.

He also scored an 80 in Batting Clutch, making him an indispensable player in Twins batting order. If his Plate Discipline and Vision stats can improve in this Attributes Update, Lewis could become one of the better hitters in American League.

    Tyler O’Neill

St. Louis Cardinals have a unique skill in developing players, and center fielder Tyler O’Neill is one of them. The player has played in the major leagues for multiple seasons and has won two Gold Glove Awards.

Tyler O’Neill’s offensive and defensive attributes are mostly pretty average, with his 82 power and 84 durability against left-handers being his top marks. But one area where he does excel is in speed, which is already at 98. He’s lightning fast and can cover a lot of ground on the field and bases. I think his other attributes should be improved to get a better balance. What do you think? We’ll see.

    Daniel Hudson

Many players will convert their extra closers to relief pitchers. This isn’t necessarily a bad idea, but it puts extra pressure on the bullpen, as true relief pitchers need to be able to handle multiple innings. And Daniel Hudson is a quality bridge between starter and closer.

His three-digit H/9, K/9, and Pitching Clutch are all incredible, even for other top relief pitchers. Looking at his other pitching stats, every attribute except stamina is at least 85. Therefore, he’s a no-brainer on my Diamond Players list, at least.

    Clayton Kershaw

The 36-year-old Clayton Kershaw shows no signs of rustiness as he wraps up his 16th season with Los Angeles Dodgers. The veteran starting pitcher has 13 wins in 24 starts, his highest mark in the past five seasons.

Kershaw’s perfect Clutch Pitching stats and solid distribution between H/9, K9, and BB/9 categories make him a well-rounded and versatile pitcher who still has plenty of energy. With Kershaw’s services, Dodgers might be able to bring World Series back to Los Angeles.

That’s my prediction for the player attribute changes and new diamond player cards in Roster Attributes Update 4. What do you think? Do you have any better picks?

If you feel a player is still performing well and has a good chance of improving, go ahead and try to invest in them. However, be careful not to over-invest, as there’s always a chance they’ll underperform for a few games and that could cause their rating to drop. Let’s wait and see!

  • MLB The Show 24: What Can We Expect In Season 2? - Release Date, New Changes And More

    Posted: Jun 07, 2024

As we all know, Ultimate Team mode has undergone some major adjustments because of the introduction of Seasons mechanic, bringing new fun to players throughout the game lifecycle. With MLB The Show 24 Season 2 about to begin, Diamond Dynasty is expected to usher in some exciting new changes.

In fact, after the end of Chapter 1, the developers listened to some player feedback and said that they would make some core changes to the way XP Reward Path works in Season 2, which will make it easier for ordinary players with limited time to get started.

Here, we will talk about all the details we know so far about the upcoming new content in MLB The Show 24 Season 2. Without further ado, let’s get started!

    Start & End Date

The start date of MLB The Show 24 Season 2 has been confirmed as June 7, 2024. The expected time is 12pm PST (3pm ET / 8pm BST).

Once the season goes live, it is expected to last approximately 12 weeks, just like Season 1. The current expected end date for Season 2 is August 29, 2024, but this is subject to change.

If the previously announced schedule holds, Season 3 will last until November 22. With the update to Season 2, we’re guessing that Season 4 will most likely be the last season of MLB The Show 24. So this will be the last hurrah for MLB this year as fans once again turn their attention to MLB The Show 25.

    Changes To XP Reward Path

While Seasons mechanic originally introduced in MLB The Show 23 was a welcome move as many complained about the impact of Power Creep in previous years, this implementation in Diamond Dynasty has not been well received.

The developers heard strong criticism from players about the time it took to earn cards in Season 1 XP Reward Path, and they decided to make changes in Season 2.

This XP Reward Path in Season 2 will allow players to progress faster. After the release of Season 2, multiple Diamond Dynasty modes will offer over 200,000 XP. They will also be launching Double XP Weekends starting on June 7th, where the game XP cap will double to maximize all the time players have as they enter the new season.

    Wild Card Slots Mechanic

With the start of Season 2, Wild Card Slots mechanic will go live in Diamond Dynasty. Cards marked as Core can be used in every season without issue. Unfortunately, S1 cards will now only become part of a valid Season 2 lineup if used in a Wild Card Slot. But all cards marked as S2 will be eligible during Season 2.

It’s worth noting that Ranked Solo will always have a Season restriction, and sometimes the same requirements are enforced in Conquest, Mini Seasons, Battle Royale, and Events.

However, Ranked Co-Op, Play vs Friends, Play vs CPU, and Casual Head to Head will remain unrestricted and allow lineups to use cards from any season. What’s more, there are additional Wild Card Slots that can be unlocked in Season 2 XP Reward Path.

    Tons Of New Players Available

In addition, Team Affinity Program will introduce many new players in Season 2, and Chapter 1 is expected to bring 30 new 89 OVR cards.

New Cornerstone Cards will be released at the beginning of the season, and players can use these cards to build their own teams, as they provide attribute upgrades to the team. If you want to get these cards early, it is crucial to stock up on enough MLB The Show 24 Stubs in advance.

Meanwhile, Season Awards program will continue in Season 2, which has introduced new cards every week since the game’s release.

Season 2 will also pay tribute to three legendary players who are set to be inducted into National Baseball Hall of Fame. The developers have confirmed that a ton of content will be released to celebrate, so we can expect a show or event centered on these players.

    New Negro Leagues Storylines

While we’re here, we have to talk about the unsung history of Negro Leagues. Prior to release, the developers confirmed that Season 2 would offer a total of ten Negro Leagues Storylines. With the latest update and the new Season of Diamond Dynasty coming soon, the last three Negro Leagues have also been added to the game.

It must be said, however, that MLB The Show 24 did not offer all ten of this year’s Negro Leagues Storylines at launch, but rather slowly rolled them out after the global release date.

Players can unlock 85 OVR versions of each player by completing these Negro Leagues Storylines. While 85 OVR may not be ideal for some players at this point, the upcoming Season 2 of Diamond Dynasty also means that specific cards from Season 1 are no longer valid unless used with Wild Card Slots.

These are core cards that are available year-round, so they are good team investments to level up in parallel to higher levels. You’ll also earn some Bat skins, Uniforms, Stadiums, XP, and Stubs for completing these storylines.

For those looking to beef up their roster while completing Season 1 challenges and accumulating XP before Season 2 begins, all Negro League cards unlocked in Storylines are now buffed to 99 OVR until Diamond Dynasty season begins. So, check them out now!

That’s all we know about the new content available in Season 2. Knowing this will give you a head start in the new season!

  • MLB The Show 24: How To Get An Endless Supply Of Stubs? - Currency Farming Guide

    Posted: May 17, 2024

Stubs are a universal form of currency in MLB The Show 24 that can be used to purchase Perks, Equipment, Show Packs, and even some new Legends directly in the game. So it’s easy to imagine how important it is to earn enough MLB 24 Stubs.

In this guide, we’ll cover a few ways to farm stubs without spending real money. Once you learn these methods, you’ll have an endless supply of stubs.

Before we get into it, I should remind you that this guide focuses on single player modes, but you can also earn Stubs by participating in online competitive modes like Ranked Seasons and Battle Royale. Many of these modes have their own schedules and reward ladders, with stubs being the primary reward.

It should also be mentioned that no matter which mode you play, you’ll get a small amount of MLB The Show 24 Stubs for each inning, so as long as you’re playing, you’ll be earning in-game currency. Of course, you can also invest in Show Packs and Community Market, but be aware that high returns always come with high risks.

What Are MLB 24 Stubs For?

Stubs are the universal currency available in MLB The Show 24, primarily used in Diamond Dynasty. Not only can you use stubs to purchase card packs called Show Packs from Show Shop, but you can also purchase additional player cards from Community Market.

These cards are often based on real MLB players from the past and present, and you can use them when building your Diamond Dynasty team.

    All Ways To Earn Stubs

While purchasing is the quickest and easiest way to earn Stubs in MLB The Show 24, you can still accumulate the currency by playing games.

    Advancing Programs

Programs are progress meters that reward you for playing baseball and completing objectives. There is a main Seasonal Program that rotates every few months. Your progress in the major program is determined by XP, which is earned by playing in all game modes. Many levels in Program reward stubs, which you can use as you wish.

However, these aren’t the only programs in the game that reward stubs. Moments feature short objectives that can be completed in exchange for stubs and rewards, and Player Programs also include stub rewards. You can use these stubs to improve your Ballplayer.

While you can progress through most Programs purely through playing the game, keep an eye out for the missions listed at the bottom of each Program. Make sure you make progress and unlock as many Stubs and Show Packs as possible in the process.

    Complete Moments

Moments are bite-sized gameplay challenges inspired by historical and contemporary baseball events. These challenges can be as simple as striking out a player, or as complex as sending a game into extra innings and getting a walk-off win.

Completing Moments will generally earn your stubs and program progress, as well as additional rewards. To maximize the number of stubs, you get when completing Moments, try to complete a full set of missions. Completing all levels in a given category will also reward you with an additional stub, which you can then use as you wish.

    Achieve Collections

Undoubtedly, the best way to earn stubs without spending money is to complete Collections. When you open Show Packs, your Diamond Dynasty item binder will fill up. You can then tag any cards you collected, earning stubs and rewards.

There are different collections, and completing all the tasks in a single collection will reward you with a large amount of stubs at once for your efforts.

It is important to note that all player cards that enter Collections cannot be sold on Community Market afterwards. So be careful when collecting some cards to sell.

    Winning Showdowns

Showdowns are single-player challenges where you’ll pick your starting lineup and complete Moments to improve your team and unlock perks in the process.

Unlike before, you usually have to spend Stubs to enter a Showdown, but if you succeed, then you’ll easily win back your MLB 24 Stubs and more.

For example, World Baseball Classic Showdown requires 500 Stubs to enter, but completing all the challenges means you’ll get 3,600 Stubs.

    Play Mini Seasons

The exciting Mini Seasons have finally returned in MLB The Show 24. This actually allows you to complete Mini Seasons with other Diamond Dynasty rosters. Although the game is entirely single-player, you don’t have to compete online to complete these games.

The games are divided into three games, and once you complete the regular season, you can enter the playoffs to try to win Mini Seasons championship. There are many Mini Seasons to play this year, and all seasons have unique Team-Building Challenges to add variety to the game.

The rewards for this mode are very good and repeatable, so while you need to play a lot of games, winning Mini Seasons championship will earn you at least 5,000 Stubs, and you can achieve various other objectives to get other in-game rewards.

    Unlock Conquest Maps

Conquest mode in Diamond Dynasty is another great way to maximize the number of Stubs you get.

Each Conquest Map has a list of objectives for you to complete, which usually rewards you with XP and Stubs. As you capture more territory on the map, you’ll also find hidden bonuses that sometimes reward you with Show Packs or Stubs.

One thing to keep in mind is that you should be aware of which objectives can be repeated. Playing some Conquest Maps over and over can reward you with a steady stream of Show Packs and Stubs.

    Investing In Community Market

If you’re bold and careful and keep an eye on the market, investing in Community Market may be the best place for you to earn Stubs.

The key to this strategy is to focus on the price of MLB player cards and use your Stubs to buy cards of decreasing value. If you buy at the right time, you can sell the same card later for a profit.

It’s just a matter of keeping an eye on the average value of player cards over time. Promotions and real-world performance can have an impact on the overall value of a card.

That’s it for this Stub farming guide. Do you have other tips and tricks to help you earn Stubs efficiently and without spending money in MLB The Show 24? If so, share your wealth secrets. Have a great day!

  • MLB The Show 24: Master 10 Key Tips To Help You Transform Into A Top Player Quickly!

    Posted: May 17, 2024

It’s no secret that even veterans can get overwhelmed when jumping into the latest version of a series, and the same is true with MLB The Show 24. If you’re a new player or returning veteran, the game’s diverse challenge modes and mechanics are sure to leave you dazzled.

In this guide, we aim to share some tips that new players need to know before they start playing MLB The Show 24 to help you have a better gaming experience on the field. This guide will cover tips for winning in game modes like Diamond Dynasty, as well as ways to become a top player.

    10. Get The Best Players In Diamond Dynasty

Diamond Dynasty is a game mode that some new players may not be drawn to first. It has some similarities to NBA 2K's My Team or EA FC’s Ultimate Team, and the primary method of getting the best players in the game is to pay.

What makes this mode one of the best ways to collect cards in some sports simulation games is that you can get all of the best players in the game for free with just a little time invested. Of course, you can choose to spend some money on packs to speed up the process and get the best team as soon as possible.

    9. Be Selective In Buying Packs

If you don’t plan on spending money on the game, it’s not worth it to buy packs. You will be completely dependent on the luck of the packs, which can be particularly dangerous because there is no guarantee whether you will get excellent players.

Your focus should be to play as many games as possible and sell any players you can to save up your stubs to buy the best cards in the game. But once you plan to improve your lineup, you can take some risks by buying some packs.

    8. Unlock Collections

When you invest some time in the game, you will unlock many collections by getting certain players that you may not have noticed. And redeeming these collections is one of the best ways to earn extra MLB The Show 24 stubs, which will definitely help you improve your team further.

You can redeem more collections if you have been participating in events such as Live Series or Team Affinity, which allow you to exchange some items like Throwback Jerseys for free stubs or packs.

    7. Play Mini Seasons

Unless you want to do some flipping in the market, playing Mini Seasons single-player mode is probably the best way to earn stubs in MLB The Show 24. Besides that, Mini Seasons is also a great way for beginners to start the game as it is not challenging at all and will help you learn the game faster.

You can complete various tasks to earn stubs or packs, most of which are fairly easy. You just need to do something as simple as winning a few games on any difficulty and you can get a lot of packs as a reward.

    6. Complete New Storylines

In addition, Negro League and Derek Jeter Storylines are constantly expanding, with extra parts being added over time. Since they can take quite a while, it’s best to complete them as soon as possible to catch up when the other parts are released.

But that’s not the only reason to play this mode as it is one of the best parts of the game and has a lot of creative and unique content that baseball fans will love. What’s more, it also rewards you with many of the talented players in the game, which makes it even better.

    5. More Custom Practice

The custom practice range is back in MLB The Show 24 and it’s better than ever. Practicing hitting or pitching in custom practice is the best way to improve your game. It allows you to constantly perfect yourself, learn the mechanics of pitches, and become a better player.

What’s even better is that the game lets you decide how often and where you pitch when you’re at bat, so you can practice specific areas of your game.

    4. Challenge Of The Week

You may have noticed that when you start playing in MLB The Show 24, you get to try out a variety of outstanding game modes, and Challenge of the Week is one of them. You can think of this mode as batting practice and try to hit as many balls as possible to make the multiplier go up.

As you hit some balls, the difficulty level automatically increases, making this challenge harder and harder. Once you get good enough, you can even try to compete for the top spot on the leaderboard and win some prizes.

    3. Complete Programs

Similar to collections, you can also complete Programs in MLB The Show 24 to get some players, stubs, and other exclusive items for free. You just need to complete the tasks given in these programs to earn points, which you can then redeem for these packs and players.

Currently, you can unlock players like Sandy Alcantara, Dylan Crews, and even James Wood. Note that if you play these activities in conjunction with other activities, you will be able to build a great team before you even start playing multiplayer game modes.

    2. Adjust Your Game Settings

MLB The Show 24 is a game where settings play a huge role. Whether it’s your camera settings, choosing the right hits, the fielding interface, or your Plate Coverage Indicator, every player has their own preferences and you need to find out which settings work best for you. Or you can experiment in-game, which is probably the best way to find out what settings work best for you.

    1. Start The Game With Dynamic Difficulty

Whether you are a new player, just starting out or you have baseball experience in previous games, you should always pitch and bat at the dynamic difficulty setting.

This setting will start you with the easiest difficulty and automatically adjust based on your performance. As you progress, the difficulty will increase. This means you have to constantly improve your game to match the strength of your opponents.

These are all the 10 tips you need to know before you start your MLB The Show 24. Master them and you will be able to take your place in the leaderboard faster!
