Treyarch is known for its well-designed multiplayer maps. But when Black Ops 6 was released, some of the included maps didn’t quite meet all the fans’ expectations. In fact, there are many popular multiplayer maps in BO6 that deserve to be re-added.
8. Castle
Castle is one of the most popular multiplayer maps from Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Vanguard. It is designed with an ancient Japanese castle located on a Pacific island in the background.
In PS3/Xbox 360 era, the castle was divided into several main areas, including courtyards, castle walls, etc., and each area had its own unique gameplay. For example, in the open courtyard, it is suitable to use sniper rifles for long-range strikes.
In the narrow and complex indoor environment, it is more challenging for players to understand weapon selection and positioning skills. In order to accurately and better familiarize themselves with this map, it is best to practice in BO6 Bot Lobbies in advance.
7. Evac
Evac is one map in Black Ops 3. Its unique design concept is mainly because of the introduction of jet thrusters in the game. These jets allow players to quickly move around the battlefield, jump, and wall run. Although BO6 also tried similar Omnimovement, they didn’t quite replicate the heart-pounding feeling of Black Ops 3.
On the map Evac, the designers cleverly used jet boosters to allow players to move flexibly in the air and through obstacles. Although some adjustments may be needed for jet boosters. The layout of the map is a mixture of tight areas and open spaces, providing ideal ambush positions for snipers while also creating flanking opportunities for ground troops.
6. Grind
Grind in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set in the vibrant Venice Beach, and players can fight in a real skate park. The map is full of ramps, pipes, and jump points, providing abundant cover options, allowing players to flexibly block lanes, camp, or engage in head-on confrontations.
Grind is a map designed for close-quarters combat, with many tight corners that allow players to use the center lane to enter indoor areas. Grind is one of the most popular maps out there thanks to its fast movement and open cover design.
5. Express
Express has separated spawn pools and situational avenues that anyone can take advantage of. This makes it great in any mode, but it’s especially great in Search and Destroy.
Combat usually takes place near train tracks, where players can enter a stationary train to fight, with everything from melee to ranged attacks. Trying to cross the train tracks and dodge attacks from ranged weapons is always exciting and tense. Gunfights often occur in the main lobby area, and the train tracks themselves are a popular location for many fierce confrontations.
4. Raid
Raid is undoubtedly one of the most popular maps in BO2. This map is extremely attractive, especially for players who like close-quarters combat. The multiple buildings and fountains on the map provide excellent situational cover, and the battlefield constantly moves the spawn point, which requires players to wander around this fairly large map to find enemies.
Raid benefits from various forms of gameplay, as there are multiple lanes where snipers can be stationed and many lanes that players can cross for more close-quarters combat. Whether indoors or outdoors, players can find a way to fight that suits them.
3. Summit
Summit is derived from BO3 and BO4. This map takes players to the mountains for a fierce battle with natural elements and deadly drops. Gravity is obviously not the player’s friend, and every step must be taken with caution. Traverse snowy terrain and fight fierce battles with other players on a fairly linear and simple map. Many players are eager for this map to be remastered on PS5/Xbox Series X.
The map is covered in heavy snow, and fog and haze may obscure the player’s vision, making the battle more tense and exciting. In addition, because of the very open map design, it is a deadly scoring map and players need to be vigilant.
2. Hijacked
Hiacjked is one of the best maps in Call of Duty overall, extremely entertaining and fast-paced, and worth remaking again and again. This map takes place in the middle of the ocean, where players can engage in fierce battles on a superyacht.
The battles frequently take place in narrow areas and sharp turns, full of close-range confrontations, but there are also opportunities for snipers to provide fire support from a distance. Multiple accessible areas on the upper and lower levels make the game more exciting and suitable for players who like challenges.
1. Firing Range
Firing Range is one of the most iconic maps in the Call of Duty series. Treyarch transformed the real military training ground into a virtual battlefield. The feature of this map lies in its perfect combination of openness and complexity.
A wide range of buildings and obstacles, such as abandoned warehouses and dilapidated vehicles, are distributed in the vast space. You can effectively use the terrain for concealed movement or find a favorable position to launch an attack. For players who like close-range confrontations, carrying a submachine gun or assault rifle is undoubtedly a good choice.
These classic maps have been popular in past works, and their remake and return will surely bring more excitement and fun to players. If you are missing some in-game items, you can follow the free item information posted in the IGGM Discord giveaway channel.
