Path Of Exile 2: How To Use Crafting Currency To Enhance Gears?

Posted: Dec 09, 2024

In Path of Exile 2, players can enhance or modify the gear you obtain during your adventures by collecting and using various crafting currencies. Many of the crafting currencies in Path of Exile 2 are inherited from Path of Exile 1, which shows that the development team has made significant efforts to keep old players familiar while also attracting new players to join.

These materials have been an important part of the in-game currency exchange system since League of Settlers of Kalguur. We are sure that some of the crafting currencies in PoE 2 will be directly connected to the p2p trading in the game.

As the game progresses, especially after completing the main story, players may accumulate a large amount of these crafting materials. However, it is not a wise choice to store all the materials. We recommend that players start to use these materials more actively to upgrade and modify their gear after entering the second act.

Some of the crafting currencies in PoE 2 are extremely rare and should not be used lightly unless you find the perfect gear. In addition, some materials are very rare. Below, we will mention some strategies for using crafting materials in this guide.

Path Of Exile 2: How To Use Crafting Currency To Enhance Gears?

Crafting Materials

Crafting materials in PoE 2 include, but are not limited to, gems that increase character attributes, scrolls that add more affixes, and even items that increase the rarity of gear. For some of the more common and easily obtained materials, such as Orb of Transmutation, it allows players to transform a Normal Item into a Magic Item.

Although the new gear obtained in this way may not be the most top-notch, it undoubtedly provides a good starting point for players who are just beginning their journey or want to try different builds.

In addition, Chaos Orbs can also make Normal Items extremely powerful. For example, if you are lucky enough to come across a Sceptre with a highlevel Occult ability, you can further enhance the stats and modifiers of this gear by using Orbs of Alchemy or Regal Orbs.

But be aware that there is a limit to the maximum number of affixes that different types of gear can accept: For Magic (blue) gear, a maximum of two additional affixes can be attached. For Rare (gold) gear, up to six additional affixes can be attached.

During the game, recycling items through Sockets not only clears space in your backpack but also allows you to start accumulating Artificer’s Shards. This shard is very special because it can be used to craft an Artificer’s Orb.

Specifically, after collecting 10 of these shards, the player can synthesize a powerful Artificer’s Orb. And you don’t need to embed skill gems into your gear to enhance the ability. Just insert the rune and it will remain there permanently, providing players with a continuous buff effect.

There are many types of runes. They can not only provide players with various defensive properties, such as increasing Elemental Resistance, increasing max Life, or attaching additional percentage defense to armor, but can also be installed on military weapons to enhance attack power. Choosing the right rune is crucial to building a strong and balanced character.

As the game progresses, in the later stages, players tend to pursue a more stable and efficient gear upgrade path. Here, Orb of Transmutation > Regal Orb > Exalted Orb route is widely regarded as a safer choice. If an unsatisfactory roll occurs during the process, you can choose to abandon the item without affecting the overall progress.

But this strategy only sounds attractive because of its relatively high cost. Therefore, it is recommended that players wait until they are fully sure of their basic items before trying it to avoid unnecessary POE2 Currency.

All Known Orbs

Here are all the crafting currencies in PoE 2 and their rarity:

  • Orb of Transmutation (Common)
  • Orb of Augmentation (Common)
  • Orb of Alchemy (Common)
  • Exalted Orb (Common)
  • Orb of Chance (Uncommon)
  • Chaos Orb (Uncommon)
  • Artificer’s Orb (Uncommon)
  • Regal Orb (Uncommon)
  • Orb of Annulment (Rare)
  • Divine Orb (Very Rare)
  • Vaal Orb (Uncommon/Rare)
  • Jeweller’s Orb (Unknown rarity)

In addition, there are some crafting materials that can be used to improve the quality of gear, and their difficulty is closely related to the player’s luck. When you apply these materials to armor slots, you can significantly enhance your defense. If used on a weapon, it can greatly increase its attack power. Besides obtaining these crafting materials through combat and exploration, the Salvaging Station is also an important source.

  • Armourer’s Scrap: Improves Quality of Armor
  • Arcanist’s Etcher: Salvage Wands, Staves, and Sceptres with Quality
  • Blacksmith’s Whetstone: Improves all Martial Weapons

In summary, the use of crafting currency is crucial to the player’s character growth and gear optimization. By making rational use of these resources, players can create a unique and powerful character. Therefore, mastering the use of a strategy of various crafting materials and understanding how they affect gear attributes are skills that every player must master on the game journey.

As the game deepens, continuous exploration and experimentation with different combinations will make your character more comfortable when facing challenges. If you want more PoE 2 items, you can enter IGGM discord, and Giveaway channel will often release product giveaway information.
