Source: IGGMPath of Exile 2, which has been highly anticipated by many players, finally be launched in its early access on December 6, allowing you to first to experience this new game. In fact, POE 2 is a sequel to the first game in the series, so it has optimized and updated many of the original mechanics based on the previous game.
As a mechanic that was already introduced in the first game, Ascendancy can help your character get specific subclasses, making it more effective against enemies during combat. In Path of Exile 2, each class can use three types of Ascendancy, but only two are available in early access for the time being.
But even with only two, the benefits provided by Ascendancy are worth challenging the trial of Ascendancy - this is also the only way to unlock Ascendancy. Based on this, we will introduce you to some methods to complete the two trials of Ascendancy.
What Is Trial Of Ascendancy?
POE 2 Ascendancy is available when you reach act 2 of the campaign. You’ll encounter the trial of Ascendancy, which not only rewards you with POE2 Currency but also unlocks Ascendancy subclass for your character, which in fact can be a good supplement to your character’s main class skills.
To do this, you must complete this great trial related to one of the main cultures of Wraeclast. There are currently two trials available in early access, and the third may be officially launched in version 1.0.
How To Complete Trial Of The Sekhemas?
As the first trial, it is quite difficult to complete Trial of the Sekhemas because you need to prove your worth by trapping the soul of an elf in the coin. However, when you complete this operation, the coin will be placed on Relic Altar to start your official trial.
The trial itself has different rooms, each of which has its own unique challenges, such as filling the holy chalice with blood by killing monsters, or requiring you to avoid deadly traps. In the trial, you have an honor meter, which will be hit when you are hurt by monsters. If you run out of the honor meter because you’ve taken too much damage, you’ll be kicked out of the trial and will need to find another coin to start over.
Once you’ve entered each room, you can choose how to proceed. It’s recommended that you choose a specific path by looking at what you can get from the next room. For example, you can get a key to open a chest, or you just like a certain room type more.
It’s worth noting that some rooms have debuffs that will affect your trial results. But you can also get boons between rooms to help you complete the entire trial, such as Sekhema’s Cloak: if you die in the middle of the trial, it can revive you once. In addition, you can trade with Djinns between levels to restore honor, obtain other boons, or eliminate pain through the power of Sacred Water.
Once you’ve passed the final stage of the trial and defeated the boss of the last level, you can use the keys you collected along the way to open bronze, silver, or gold chests, and the number of chests that can be opened depends on how many keys you have and the type of key. You then gain an Ascendancy, and two skill points that can be used in the relevant skill tree.
How To Complete Trialmaster’s Challenge?
If you find Trial of the Sekhemas a little difficult or annoying, you can always try to complete Trialmaster’s Challenge. Instead of trapping Djinn in coins, you’ll get tokens from an entity called Trialmaster.
Each room of this trial begins with Trialmaster handing out a reward and making a choice, which means you must choose from three tribulations to guide you through the rest of the trial. These tribulations include Unstoppable Monsters that you can’t slow or stun, Impending Doom that creates the ring of chaos while detonating certain areas, or turrets that send shockwaves around the room.
At the end of each room of Trialmaster’s Challenge, you can choose to take a reward, or continue to double up on tribulations to get more POE2 Currency rewards. Like the first trial, Trialmaster’s Challenge has a variety of content, including challenges such as surviving for a period or escorting a stone statue through a secret room to a safe place, and there is a deadly boss waiting for you at the end.
All Path Of Exile 2 Ascendancies
After understanding how to obtain Ascendancy through trials, you need to know what sub-professions can be obtained through Ascendancy for each of the six available classes in POE 2 early access in order to make the most suitable choice:
- Witch Ascendancies: Infernalist; Blood Mage.
- Sorceress Ascendancies: Stormweaver; Chronomancer.
- Warrior Ascendancies: Warbringer; Titan.
- Ranger Ascendancies: Deadeye; Pathfinder.
- Monk Ascendancies: Invoker; Acolyte of Chayula.
- Mercenary Ascendancies: Witchhunter; Gemling Legionnaire.
