Source: IGGMWith Madden NFL 25 just around the corner, there are a few things you might want to know before jumping into the game, including the different options for pre-ordering it, what rewards are offered, and how the content we can expect differs from previous Madden titles.
Undoubtedly, the gameplay differences are definitely the major factor that most players hesitate to pre-order Madden 25. So, the answer to whether the game is the same as last year’s version, or just the roster and stats have changed, will determine whether it’s worth our money.
But don’t worry, if you’re on the fence about whether to pre-order the game, here’s everything you need to know about Madden 25 to help you make a quick decision!
Release Date And Platforms
Madden NFL 25 will officially release on Friday, August 16, 2024. The game releases at midnight Eastern Time, which means players in earlier time zones will be able to start playing Madden 25 on Thursday night. Players with Early Access can start playing even earlier, on August 13, 2024.
MUT 25 will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. PC players can pre-order the game from a variety of places, including Steam, Windows, Epic Games Store, and EA App.
This game is much more system-wide than EA Sports’ other recent football game, College Football 25.
Pre-Order Bonuses
All players who pre-order Madden NFL 25 will receive multiple items for Ultimate Team mode and Superstar mode.
For Ultimate Team, players can get Elite Player version of Christian McCaffrey. They can also choose two Strategy Items, one for offense and one for defense, to help them expand their Ultimate Team playbook.
Pre-order bonuses for Superstar mode include Superstar Drip gear and a Legendary XP Boost. Legendary XP Boost is the most powerful XP gain in Madden 25, helping players level up their Superstar athletes faster. Superstar Drip gear is a jersey that is only available in PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game.
There are also some pre-order bonuses that are exclusive to players who own Deluxe Edition. The first bonus is Early Access, which anyone who pre-orders Deluxe Edition will get on August 13.
The second bonus is 4,600 MUT 25 Coins. Although the coins are listed as a pre-order bonus on EA website, players may still get them after Deluxe Edition is released.
Standard & Deluxe Edition
Madden 25 has two main Editions for players to pre-order, namely Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition. Standard Edition costs $69.99 and Deluxe Edition costs $99.99.
Aside from the 4,600 Madden 25 Coins that Early Access and Deluxe Edition players get, there are virtually no differences between the two Editions, which means that players who opt for Standard Edition won’t be missing out on any major features or game modes.
I think the only real reason to go for Deluxe Edition is if you’re already planning on getting some coins for Madden 25 Ultimate Team mode. And getting 4,600 MUT 25 Coins for $30 is a slight discount from the typical price. So how could this not be a way to save money?
That being said, if you don’t already plan on paying for coins, then pre-ordering Deluxe Edition is a waste of money for you. So it’s probably best to go for Standard Edition first and then see if you like the Ultimate Team mode and are willing to spend the extra money for it. However, there are some situations where Deluxe Edition might be the best choice.
If you want to own both College Football 25 and Madden NFL 25, then a good option is to get MVP Bundle, which includes Deluxe Editions of both games for $149.99. While this is $10 more expensive than getting Standard Edition of both games separately, the discount on Madden 25 Coins is much greater.
So if players were already planning on pre-ordering both games, this could be a better option so they can test out Ultimate Team mode and get some extra coins. However, note that this Bundle is only available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Basic Gameplay & Differences
When it comes to basic gameplay, players pretty much know what to expect as Madden NFL 25 won’t change much. Rather than trying to reinvent how a football game works, Madden 25 simply makes some updates to the game engine. The main gameplay differences between Madden 25 and previous games in the series are in the game modes.
Updates to Franchise mode on next-gen systems and PC add a new level of immersion to the experience. Players can now interact with their players directly in several different simulation environments and through text. Players can also now play as male or female coaches, making the experience more inclusive and accessible to a wider range of players.
Superstar mode lets players create their own custom athletes and participate in seasons only at the position of their choice. What’s more, Madden 25 has added a character progression system, which can help players continuously improve their abilities and overall statistics.
Ultimate Team mode has also returned to Madden NFL 25, but this game mode has been controversial in the past because of its pay-to-win mechanism. Players who don’t mind working hard to win new players or are willing to pay for this mode seem to like it. Others prefer to stick to game modes that don’t give players advantages based on the amount of money they spend on the game.
How about it, after knowing this information, have you decided to pre-order Madden 25? In any case, look forward to its arrival to bring us a brand new gaming experience!
