There are many games in ARPG field, but among Diablo-like games, the excellent games are not only Path of Exile and Diablo. In the field of players, their love for Last Epoch is no less than that of Path of Exile.

Just after Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4 announced their new version plans, Last Epoch also announced all the details and release date of their season 2. Players will be able to experience new bosses and new items in the world of Eterra, and find gold and equipment in new dungeons. However, for some reasons, the release date of Last Epoch Season 2 has been postponed.

Last Epoch Season 2 Tombs Of The Erased: Release Date Delayed To April 17, 2025

Content Of Season 2

Since Last Epoch has ended its 5-year early access, you can now join Last Epoch and experience a deeper class design than Diablo 4 and a more complete plot experience than Path of Exile 2. Therefore, Last Epoch Season 2 will be a strong competitor to these two games.

In Last Epoch Season 2 Tombs of the Erased, players will face a new faction called The Woven. They are not new face, and veterans of the game will be familiar with Weaver. However, in Season 2, Weaver has become more important. Players will have access to the full Woven faction tree. The Woven faction is separate from the other faction choices, and your faction in Merchant’s Guild or Circle of Fortune will not be affected.

The Woven faction tree, combined with the new levels of Woven Echoes, greatly expands the player’s end-game options. You will also encounter a stronger, more difficult enemy called a Champion, who will drop Last Epoch Gold and other items with exclusive new affixes when defeated. Weavers can use sacrifices to reset the affixes of powerful items. There are also new tombs and graveyard areas for players to explore, and more end-game boss battles will be added to the game, including Uber Aberroth Variant.

Monolith of Fate, the core system of the late game, will see a major upgrade, and dungeons will be improved, with more challenging new elite enemies and late-game boss fights. Defeating them will earn new Last Epoch items and a lot of gold. In addition, as the mysterious villain Woven grows stronger, players will face new challenges with Woven Echoes and can use the special Weaver faction tree to strengthen Monolith of Fate and customize your later development path.

In addition to the above, the game has also been adjusted in terms of class. There are 5 classes in the game: Acolyte, Primalist, Sentinel, Rogue, and Mage. The much-anticipated Sentinel will be reworked on a large scale, eliminating some of the limitations of Sentinel to make him as well as other classes. Now, Sentinel will have more mobility and defensive options, and will find many new and redesigned passive nodes to try. Of course, you can also try all the changes in the second season of all other classes, such as the new Rogue skill Heartseeker. All classes will receive balance adjustments.

The developer also emphasized a number of game experience optimizations, such as adding teleportation points to facilitate players to go to the two major faction strongholds of The Bazaar and The Observatory, and improving the handle operation, optimizing the target locking mechanism of different skills to make it more in line with the skill design concept.

Season 2 Release Date Postponed

The original release date of Last Epoch Season 2 was April 2, while the original release date of Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.2.0 was March 20. But shortly after Last Epoch announced the release date of Season 2, Path of Exile 2 announced that the release date would be postponed to April 4 due to technical reasons, just two days later than Last Epoch. However, since the two games belong to the same game type, there will definitely be a large loss of players on one side.

In order to avoid this situation, the developers of Last Epoch, which considers itself a small-scale game, announced that Last Epoch Season 2 had to be postponed again, until April 17th. This is undoubtedly terrible news for all players who are waiting for Season 2.

Last Epoch bluntly stated in the announcement that they postponed the release just to avoid competition with Path of Exile 2, and did not use any technical reasons as an excuse. Such an open and honest statement made Last Epoch win the favor of players.

And this very obvious “sniping” behavior of Path of Exile 2 is obviously not glorious, of course we cannot rule out that Path of Exile 2 is really postponed due to technical reasons. The advantage of Path of Exile 1 is that the developers have very high development efficiency, but after Path of Exile 2 went online, Path of Exile 2 lost this advantage because the two games were running at the same time. It has to be admitted that the development efficiency of Path of Exile 2 is a bit slow.

The postponement of the second season is indeed frustrating, but for players who have not tried Last Epoch, this is a great time. Before the new season starts, you still have plenty of time to collect Last Epoch Items and clear the story once to prepare for the upcoming challenges. For old players, this second season will undoubtedly bring you a brand new gaming experience.
