Last Epoch Season 2 Mastery Class & Legendary Potential: The Changes You Should Know About Them!
Posted: Apr 24, 2025 Views: 23
Although Last Epoch was only released as its second season not long ago, the game has put a lot of effort into it, proving that this young MMORPG has the ambition to continue to grow.
In addition to some new content added to the endgame and new builds that can be used, in Season 2, some mechanics and systems that have existed since the game was released have also been changed based on player feedback over the past year. Based on this, this time we will introduce you to the changes to Mastery class and legendary potential, so that you can continue to use them as usual in Season 2.
What Is Mastery Class?
Like most similar games, one of the basics of character creation in Last Epoch includes the choice of class. There are 5 basic classes in the game, each with unique abilities, proficiencies, and general playstyle, allowing you to fully experience different Last Epoch gameplay.
On this basis, in order to continue to broaden the playability of these base classes, Last Epoch introduced Mastery classes, which provide you with more builds and combat possibilities as a second choice. Each base class has three designated Mastery classes to choose from, which not only enhance the base class capabilities, but also further customize your character development path through skill selection and nodes. These Mastery classes are:
- Rogue Mastery Classes: Falconer, Bladedancer, Marksman
- Acolyte Mastery Classes: Lich, Necromancer, Warlock
- Mage Mastery Classes: Sorcerer, Spellblade, Runemaster
- Sentinel Mastery Classes: Forge Guard, Void Knight, Paladin
- Primalist Mastery Classes: Druid, Beastmaster, Shaman
What Happened To Mastery Class In Season 2?
Before the release of Season 2, if you determined your Mastery class for your base class in Last Epoch, this result could not be changed later, and you had to create a new character to try a new Mastery class. Obviously, this has been an unnecessary hassle for you to experience Mastery class mechanic, but now, in Season 2 you can change your Mastery class (based on your base class) at any time if you need to.
How Do You Change Your Mastery Class?
First you need to go to End of Time to find the relevant NPC, Chronomancer Lerinne, who is just south of the waypoint and also offers to reset your Mastery class passive points. After speaking to her and selecting Respecialize Mastery, a menu will pop up with two additional Masteries for your base class.
Next, you can choose a new Mastery according to your schedule. It is worth noting that this Mastery class conversion process requires Last Epoch Gold, and the amount varies depending on your level and the passive points you invested in your Mastery. In addition, changing Mastery will also reset all your passive points, even those invested in your base class.
After completing Mastery class reset, you can assign the passive points that were also reset to the new Mastery class of your choice. Usually this reset will not affect your gear, but you can make further adjustments if necessary.
Legendary Potential
Last Epoch has a full crafting system that allows you to craft most of the items you want. Of these items, legendary items are undoubtedly the most valuable, providing you with the best stats and effects in the game. To craft legendary items, you must find some exalted gear and a unique item with Legendary Potential (LP).
While all unique items have the potential to give you LP, the drop rate varies from item to item. Interestingly, stronger unique items in Last Epoch have a lower chance of dropping LP, while less powerful unique items have a higher chance of dropping LP. Typically, a unique item can give up to 4 points of Legendary Potential.
How To Forge Legendary Items?
To do this, you need to prepare a Temporal Sanctum key, a unique item with Legendary Potential, and an exalted-rarity item. Unlike regular forging, forging legendary items requires you to throw an entire other item into the legendary item you want, destroying the former and transferring some of its affixes to the latter to complete the forging.
After you have prepared the required items, please go to Temporal Sanctum dungeon in Imperial Era Majasan Desert and complete it to go to the real Temporal Sanctum, and then place the unique and exalted items you brought with you in Eternity Cache here. Eternity Cache will then merge the items you placed and go back in time to Ruined Era, and you can then claim your legendary items from the cache.
If you don’t know how to get Temporal Sanctum key, you can farm in areas on level 54 and above, or directly farm Monolith of Fates, as there are some maps there that will drop the key. It is worth mentioning that Monolith of Fates sometimes drops unique and exalted items, so it can be said that this dungeon is your best helper in the process of forging legendary items.
Hopefully, the information we provide can reduce the trouble you encounter when playing Last Epoch Season 2 and complete your game goals faster. Have fun!
