Under the expectation of players and the competitive pressure from other peer games, Last Epoch finally launched the second season of the game, Tombs of the Erased, on April 17! If you have made time to experience the new season, we would like to remind you that you should not rush to create a new character and fight immediately, but should first have a deep understanding of the game update.
In order to ensure that the new season has a certain degree of playability and freshness, Last Epoch has added a lot of detailed adjustments and new content. Among them, the most closely related to your combat experience is the changes to the two mechanisms of class and boss. You need to pay special attention to class, because these changes mean that you also need to make adjustments to the builds you use.
Based on this, we will focus on class changes and provide you with some reference suggestions for choosing and crafting new builds based on the updates of this Season 2.
Season 2 Main Updates
As the first major update since the launch of Last Epoch, Season 2 is also the 1.2 patch of the game, dedicated to providing you with a better MMORPG experience through a series of new changes.
Woven Faction
Last Epoch’s mysterious game world has many factions, and you can interact with members of the faction or simply become one of them. Season 2 adds Woven Faction, which can add Woven Echoes to your Monolith of Fate to provide a deeper endgame experience.
You can interact with members of this faction by finding a Cemetery of the Erased in Echo Web, or you can enter Haven of Silk and talk to Masque to join the faction after defeating the relevant boss. After joining, completing Woven Echoes can increase the level of the faction and add points to your Weaver Tree to improve your Last Epoch endgame experience.
New Enemies And Bosses
As you explore Echo Web, you’ll encounter new enemy types, such as Champions, and new weaver mini-bosses. Champions are large, powerful, rare monsters that can be identified by the red glow they emit. They’re tough to beat, but they’ll reward you with a healthy amount of Last Epoch Gold. As for the mini-bosses, just be careful and watch them carefully.
It’s worth noting that the game’s Uber boss Aberroth has become even more powerful in Season 2! Expect to have to deal with a special Uber Aberroth encounter in addition to the regular boss fights. Given how dangerous and mysterious this boss is, you’ll want to be fully prepared to take him on.
Adjustments To Class Mechanics
There are five classes in Last Epoch: Sentinel, Rogue, Mage, Acolyte, and Primalist. In Season 2, Sentinel class has been properly enhanced. In the past, all the limitations of this class made it weaker than other classes, which was not conducive to fair play. Now the mobility and defense capabilities of Sentinel have become better, and a number of new passive skills have been added. Other class adjustments include Rogue gaining a new skill Heartseeker, and other overall class balance adjustments.
How To Adjust Builds According To The Changes?
In addition to class adjustments and new enemies, Season 2 also adds the mastery function, which allows you to switch mastery to get more builds to use and choose from, and complete upgrades more quickly through these builds in the new season.
Primalist
The best way to quickly upgrade as a primitive warrior in Season 2 is to use Druid. This method allows you to use the transformation skill in battle, which not only performs well in damage output, but also provides you with quite strong tanking ability in Werebear form.
Mage
Playing this class lets you seamlessly blend blades and spells with Spellblade mastery, destroying enemies with Shatter Strike, and then switch back and forth between Shatter Strike and Mana Strike as your primary combat method - the former directly deals damage to enemies, while the latter continuously restores resources to continue dealing damage.
Sentinel
Season 2’s Sentinel is more powerful than ever, and you can play as a Paladin to gain resistance and Holy Aura, which increases your attack and defense bonuses, and quickly defeats enemies to earn gold and other loot.
Acolyte
The best way to experience this class is to become a Warlock to create rifts and unleash a series of Chaos Bolts. In addition, the strongest class skill Chthonic Fissure, can provide powerful continuous damage to clear enemies, while summoning Infernal Shades to melt them.
Rogue
Falconer build, built around Falcon companion, can help Rogue easily clear obstacles, and the melee leech affix on the gear also makes this build easy to upgrade while having excellent endurance, as long as you invest a little in health and physical resistance.
Endgame Builds
The above are the leveling builds craft ideas we provide for you based on the changes in class mechanics. When you enter Last Epoch endgame stage, due to the further increase in game difficulty, you need to further adjust your builds usage strategy. For this reason, we recommend you to use the following builds first:
- Heartseeker Marksman
- Judgement Paladin
- Warpath Void Knight
- Tornado Shaman
- Stygian Coal Lich
- Umbral Blades Falconer
- Frostbite Frost Claw Sorcerer
If the above suggestions we provided are inspiring to you, then log in to your Last Epoch and try it out in Season 2!
