Source: IGGMToday we’re going to talk about Luka, a new character from Honkai Star Rail. Luka is the boxing champion of Belobog’s Underworld and one of the most capable fighters in Wildfire.
In today’s guide, we’ll explore Luka’s Abilities, Eidolons, Light Cones, and Relics, and how he can be a valuable asset to Kafka team. So if you want to form a Kafka team, you might as well try this role in a new Honkai Star Rail Account. Maybe he will bring you unexpected surprises.
Abilities
Luka is a 4-Star character belonging to Path of Nihility with impressive offensive capabilities. His basic attack is called “Direct Punch” and deals physical damage equal to 130% of Luka’s own attack power to a single enemy at level 9.
And his skill “Lacerating Fist” can cause physical damage equivalent to 120% of his own attack power to attack the target enemy. There is a 100% base chance to cause the target to bleed for 3 turns. While bleeding, at the start of each turn, enemies will take damage equal to 16% of their HP over time as a DoT or up to 300% of Luka’s attack power, whichever is lower.
But considering most bosses have high HP, it’s really recommended to stack Luka’s attacks for the best DoT damage output.
Luka’s ultimate “Coup de Grâce” can deal damage to a single target while granting Luka 2 layers of Fighting Will. Also has a 100% base chance to increase damage taken by the targeted enemy by 15% for 3 turns.
Level 10 of Luka’s Talents “Flying Sparks” provides additional utility. After Luka uses his basic attack, ability or ultimate, he can stack up to 4 times. Whenever he has 2 or more stacks, his basic attack becomes an enhanced “Sky-Shatter Fist”. It consumes 2 stacks of Fighting Will.
Eidolons
Luka’s Eidolons have been beefed up across the board. I’m going to skip their E3 and E5 here as they only increase Luka’s skill level.
His E1, “Fighting Endlessly,” increases Luka’s DMG by 15% when attacking bleeding enemies for 2 turns.
E2 “The Enemy is Weak, I am Strong” adds an extra edge to Luka’s kit, considering Luka’s ability to trigger massive bleeds. When he uses his skills against a weakened enemy, he gains 1 extra stack of Fighting Will.
E4 “Speed Determines the Victor” increases Luka’s attack power based on how many stacks Luka has. Each stack increases Luka’s attack power by 5%, stacking up to 4 stacks.
But the best is clearly E6 “A Champion’s Applause.” When Luka’s Enhanced Basic Attack hits a bleeding enemy, each Direct Punch used by this Enhanced Basic Attack causes the enemy to take 8% more damage.
Best Relics
For Relics, Space Sealing Station is a must, as it grants you 24% attack damage, both physically set and boosts your physical DMG by 10%.
After Luka attacks or gets hit, it increased his ATK by 5%, stacking 5 times. So get 25% attack power for free for the rest of the fight. Or you can use Musketeer of Wild Wheat Set to boost your base attack and boost your basics while giving you more speed.
Best Light Cones
There aren’t that many good Nihility weapons in the game right now. But by far his best Light Cones are “Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat.” This weapon lowers the defenses of enemies.
For 5-Star weapons. Unfortunately, there are currently no dedicated weapons designed specifically for Luka. However, there are several options worth considering.
“Patience Is All You Need” is good for him. While this weapon might not be a better fit for Luka, it still provides him with some benefits. It increases Luka’s DMG by 24%. Every time he attacks, it also increased his Speed by 4.8%, stacking up to 3 times.
There’s another 5-Star option that’s “In the Name of the World.” If you have this weapon and you’re not using it on a debuffed character, 24% Attack is good for him. With new updates and new weapons coming out, he may have even more exciting options.
Team Building Synergies
In terms of team composition, Luka is a bit of a niche player, he only excels in Kafka team. So you should pair him with Kafka and a role like Sampo. But it’s really important to note that this team may lack durability, and considering that Sampo and Kafka can already handle AoE situations. So for the remaining slots, you should consider a character like Gepard, who gives you an unbreakable shield.
If you find that the previous setup doesn’t quite fit your playstyle, you might want to consider a character like Natasha. Although her ongoing Healing and Cleanse abilities sound weird, she can help break Kafka’s shield.
There are also characters like Luocha that would work well with Luka’s skills as well. Luocha can not only Heal, but also remove debuff for teammates and dispel the enemy’s buff.
Closing Thoughts
In conclusion, while Luka may have seemed a bit underwhelming as a stand-alone character, there’s no denying that he shone as an outstanding addition to Kafka team. This is especially important given the common challenges faced by most DoT dealers.
Luka breaks the mold. He has a huge potential to inflict a lot of DoT on a single target. Because of this alone, he is an indispensable asset and proves to be the best part to improve any Kafka team composition.
