Source: IGGMIn FFXIV Dawntrail expansion, not only two new jobs are added for players to choose from but also many interesting exploration tasks are added. The main storyline is an important part of these tasks, but it is not the only content. Because in this expansion, after completing the MSQ, you can also choose to complete the side quests of this main storyline.
Some optional quests, such as Once a Riddler, Now a Ruler quest, will provide you with more detailed information about the new characters in Dawntrail, while other quests will unlock some very interesting rewards besides FFXIV Gil, and even some servants.
Corn of Necessity quest introduced in this guide is the first step to unlocking Cornservant minion, so come and follow this guide step by step to complete the main quests and side plots to obtain the Cornservant minion!
Corn Of Necessity Quest
If you want to complete this quest, first you need to make sure you have completed the level 90 main storyline - Rite of Succession. The level 90 Corn of Necessity quest is available with Curious Corn in Tuliyollal.
However, it should be noted that even if you complete Rite of Succession at level 90, the entire quest chain will not be immediately available, and you will still need to complete the level 99 Unto the Summit quest.
If you have made some progress in the above two quests, you can return to the places you visited previously. At this time, you can start looking for Aether Currents, or do whatever you want to unlock the flying area in each Dawntrail zone.
When approaching Curious Corn (you can also call them Cornservants) in Corn of Necessity quest, they will be very excited and ask you to help those suffering from hunger.
Your quest has already begun. You need to approach NPCs in Tuliyollal: Hungry Youth in Bayside Bevy (X: 15.5, Y: 11.7), Hungry Woman (X: 13.6, Y: 11.6), and Hungry Mamool Ja in Talonmarch (X: 11.9, Y: 13.3).
After talking to each of them, you need to go to the glowing circle (X: 10.9, Y: 13.5) to complete a sequence, and Cornservant will accompany you. Then go a little west and talk to them again, and your quest will end. They will give you two Turali Corns, some FFXIV Gil, and some EXP. These are all needed for the next quest.
Too Much Of A Good Thing Quest
After you complete the level 90 Knowing The Pelupelu quest, you can start another side quest, Too Much Of A Good Thing, after completing Corn of Necessity quest.
This time, your Cornservant (X: 28.5, Y: 13.7) can be found near the aetheryte of Wachunpelo in Urqopacha. As expected, this time Cornservant asks you to help the hungry people.
This time, your goal is to talk to Peckish Pelupelu (X: 27.5, Y: 13.0), because he has been eating only corn and has not enough nutrition, so he has become a malnourished boy. After talking to him, remember to go back and talk to Cornservant there, and your Too Much Of A Good Thing quest will be completed.
Stretched Thin Quest
In addition to Too Much Of A Good Thing quest, there is another side storyline available after you complete Corn of Necessity and Knowing The Hanuhanu at level 90 - Stretched Thin quest.
Cornservant in this quest (X:17.7, Y:11.5) will be in Kozama’uka, next to Ok’hanu aetheryte. In this quest, your conversation partner becomes Hungry Hanuhanu (X: 16.8, Y: 13.5, and it is not she who is suffering from hunger, but her family.
After you and your Cornservant successfully help her, as in the previous quest, you need to talk to your corn companion again to complete this quest.
A Stomach For Change Quest
After you complete the above two side quests, you will come to the next quest in the quest chain - A Stomach For Change quest. There are two prerequisites for this quest. First, of course, you need to complete the previous MSQ and the first two side quests, and secondly, you need to complete the level 94 Taking a Stand quest.
Although this quest has more requirements, Cornservant (X: 13.4, Y: 13.4) is very easy to find and is very close to Iq Br’aax aetheryte. Here, Hungry Xbr’aal (X: 11.4, Y: 13.5) needs your help, and the remaining steps are the same as above.
Tastes Like Home Quest
After you complete so many quests, you can go to Shaaloani to rest up. Why choose this place? Because Shaaloani will also have a side quest - Tastes Like Home! This quest also has certain conditions. It is not enough to complete all the previous Cornservant quests. You also need to complete Law Of The Land at level 95 first.
When you meet the conditions, Cornservant (X: 28.9, Y: 29.0) will automatically appear in Hhusatahwi. But this time, they will be close to the edge of the town, behind the fence and some bushes, which are very difficult to find, so you need to look carefully.
This time, you are helping Hungry Tonawawta (X: 29.8, Y: 30.8). Many players think that he is not a good person because he abandoned his family and wanted to get rich with ceruleum. But this is a quest that needs to be completed after all, so you have to solve his food and clothing problems.
Refined Tastes Quest
This time, Hunger will summon Cornservant to go to Heritage Found. You need to go to Outskirts aetheryte (X: 17.7, Y: 9.7) to find Cornservant to get Refined Tastes quest.
Again, this quest is unlocked by completing the level 97 Gone and Forgotten quest. You will find a Hungry Milalla in this quest (X: 15.0, Y: 10.3).
But getting him to eat corn becomes a problem because he really doesn’t like vegetables. You can introduce him to popcorn, a delicious corn product, to make him realize that not all vegetables are bad. Finally, you have to talk to the Cornservant to complete the quest.
The above is how to complete Corn Of Necessity quest and some of its side stories. You can enter the game to explore more interesting stories. I hope you have fun playing FFXIV Dawntrail!
