Source: IGGMMorning Star is a Hammer that scales with Strength and Dexterity. This is a powerful weapon that can be obtained early in Elden Ring. While it has lost its blood buildup, we can also infuse it with Ashes of War and buffed with magic and consumables. Makes this weapon a great backup weapon in the game, as it has low stat requirements.
Morning Star’s inferior status and item requirements make it easy for many players to pick up. So, if you are also interested in this weapon build, give it a try. Perhaps it can bring you unexpected surprises.
How To Find Morning Star?
You can find Morning Star in a chest inside a broken Carriage in Limgrave in Weeping Peninsula region. I like to infuse this weapon with Ash of War Wild Strikes and choose Heavy as the primary weapon Affinities. What I love about this Ash of War is that as long as you have Stamina, you can keep wielding your weapon. This makes this skill very effective when you’re spamming.
Besides that, it only costs 2 FPS per swing. They dropped this Ash of War from Teardrop Scarab, next to the path leading to Castleward Tunnel Site of Grace.
Spell
For Buff and Protection, I like to use Black Flame Blade and Black Flame’s Protection. You can enchant your weapons with a Black Flame Blade spell to improve your blood loss buildup. Teardrop Scarab drops this spell in the swamp northwest of Rose Church in Liurnia of Lakes area. The other is Black Flame’s Protection, which increases your Nullification of Physical Damage by 35%.
Items
For Seal, you can use some basic Seals such as Finger Seal. You can get Finger Seal from Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold for 800 Elden Ring Runes. Plus, you can get 5% off with the code “CSCCA” or join “Free Elden Ring Runes & Items Giveaway” event. There are also some Talismans that I can use to increase my attack power. First up is Lord of Blood’s Exultation. Whenever a nearby Bleed occurs, your Attack Power is briefly increased by 20% for 20 seconds. Next up is Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, which reduces the physical damage you take by 20%.
Another piece of Green Turtle Talisman can increase the speed of stamina regeneration by 8 points per second. Last but not least, Bull-Goat’s Talisman increases your balance by 33%. This helps prevent your character from flinching when enemies attack you while performing Wild Strikes ability.
Plus, you can use a combination of two Crystal Tears to temporarily boost your stats. Using Opaline Hardtear temporarily increases all damage reduction in physical by 15% for 3 minutes. Another weapon with Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear temporarily increases Fire Attack by +20% for 3 minutes.
Armor
For armor, I like to wear Veteran’s Set, which provides excellent protection for my character. For helmets, I usually go for White Mask. When bleeding occurs nearby, it increased the attack by 10% for 20 seconds.
For a level 150 build, you can meet all the basic requirements for a Morning Star weapon. In this build, I have Vigor at 40, mind at 20, endurance at 30, Strength at 79 or higher to increase my attack power, and finally Dexterity at 10. For Black Flame’s Protection, neither Faith nor Arcane have changed much.
All in all, how this build works is that first you can consume Crystal Tears, cast Black Flame’s Protection to buff your character. Then cast Black Flame Blade's spell on your weapon. After that you can start using Wild Strikes weapon skill to attack enemies.
