Source: IGGMIn Shadow of the Erdtree, which was released some time ago in Elden Ring, there are many new optional bosses. If you don’t look carefully during your exploration, you may miss them in Land of Shadow.
Lord of Frenzied Flame Boss Midra is one of the optional bosses, and some of its attacks will cause you to accumulate Madness very seriously. Although Midra is not as powerful as some of the main bosses, you still need to be careful in the battle.
This guide will provide you with the specific location of Midra, the preparation you need to do, how to defeat it, and the follow-up actions so that you can ensure that you will be safe when facing it.
Location Of Lord Of Frenzied Flame Boss Midra
Midra is located behind its own mansion, which you can reach after traversing Abyssal Woods. But to reach Abyssal Woods, you must clear Darklight Catacombs to reach Abyss part of the map.
On your way through Abyssal Woods, you need to be careful of the untargetable enemies. Not only is it difficult to approach them, but they also deal a lot of damage, so don’t touch them. Soon you will come to a door leading to Midra’s mansion, behind which you will see a lot of headless corpses. Not far away, the place where the corpse heads are located is covered with a layer of golden material.
Preparation Before The Battle
As mentioned above, Midra will cause Madness build-up, so before starting the battle, you need to equip some Talismans that can provide you with attention, such as Clarifying Horn Charm and Mottled Necklace +2.
In addition, Flamedrake +3 Talisman can also protect you well when you are defending against Flame of Frenzy attacks cast by Midra.
Although you can dodge most of Midra’s attacks, you can equip some armor with resistance to fire damage, just in case. If you only use a shield, you must be careful, in addition to the ranged fire damage, Midra will directly close the distance between you and perform melee attacks.
Lord of Frenzied Flame Boss Midra is not immune to Bleed and Frostbite, but is immune to poison and scarlet rot. So for these, you can use dual Katana, one with Bleed and the other with Frostbite. This way you will be invincible!
If you are using Faith or Madness build, then you just need to avoid weapons or spells that can deal Madness and Fire damage. You can try Lightning or Holy, which will definitely give you a surprise.
How To Defeat?
When you enter the arena with you and Midra, you will be surprised to find that it is now in human form. Although theoretically the damage in this form is weaker, you still need to be careful of its grab attack. Because when it uses grab attack, it can quickly jump on you and cause Madness build-up, and you can’t use Spirit Summons yet.
After you defeat Midra in human form, you will have a short rest period. You can heal yourself during this period or just drink Flask of Wondrous Physick.
Then you will face the real Lord of Frenzied Flame Boss Midra. At the beginning, it will launch Flame of Frenzy attacks on you. At this time, you can use jumps or skills to move to the side to avoid.
You can also choose to take some damage and Madness build-up when summoning Spirit Ashes. But when the summons arrives, you will be relieved. For Spirit Ashes, you can choose Mimic Tear to increase the continuous damage of each summon.
If you want to make their attacks more powerful, you can use Black Knife Tiche, but at this time you need their tankiness because their health is relatively low.
What To Do With The Loots After The Fight?
After you defeat Midra, you will receive Remembrance of Lord of Frenzied Flame and 410,000 Elden Ring Runes. For the runes, you can use them as you see fit.
For Remembrance of Lord of Frenzied Flame, you need to trade Remembrance with Enia in Roundtable Hold, and you will eventually receive Greatsword of Damnation or Midra’s Flame of Frenzy.
Greatsword of Damnation is a weapon that measures your Strength, Dexterity, and Faith attributes. In addition, this weapon will allow you to deal with Holy damage, which will make you more comfortable against some major bosses.
Greatsword of Damnation also comes with a unique Ash of War, Golden Crux, which allows you to leap into the air and smash your sword into the ground. This causes a lot of short spikes to burst out of the ground and deal very large AOE damage.
Midra’s Flame of Frenzy requires two memory slots to equip, and will cause Madness build-up to you and others in range. It’s a double-edged sword, and you need to use it with caution.
If you still have some questions about fighting these optional bosses, you can join the player community through Discord and discuss with everyone. In addition, IGGM Discord will occasionally give away Elden Ring Runes in the community. Come and participate!
The above is some explanation about Lord of Frenzied Flame Boss Midra in Shadow of the Erdtree. I hope this guide can help you when you face it. I wish you have a happy exploration in the DLC!
