Source: IGGMIn Diablo 4, each profession has a unique mechanic that players need to unlock and upgrade to improve their combat capabilities. In Season 6, Barbarian class was unpopular, partly because of the nerfing of some key abilities and the out performance of other classes. Nonetheless, with the re-improvement of Arsenal Mechanic, resulting in significant changes to statistics and effects.
Players now have more opportunities to customize their Barbarian character to suit their personal play style. To take full advantage of this new system, players are advised to collect an extensive collection of melee weapons. If you don’t know how to unlock and use Barbarian’s Arsenal Mechanic yet, keep reading this guide and I’ll explain it to you.
How To Upgrade Barbarian Arsenal Mechanic?
When Barbarian character reaches level 15, Arsenal Mechanic is automatically unlocked, and a quest called Barbarian: Masters of Battle is triggered. This quest will start in Ked Bardu and needs to be completed there. After completing the mission, players will see all the different types of weapons and their associated rewards by visiting Expertise tab.
When unlocking Arsenal Mechanic for the first time, players will start at rank 1. To upgrade this mechanic, players must play with the corresponding type of weapon.
For example, when Barbarian switches weapons in the game, you’ll gain experience points with that type of weapon by hitting enemies. In order to speed up this process, you can also choose to use Diablo 4 Gold to obtain specific equipment or resources to improve your rank more efficiently.
This means that players will probably want to equip four different types of weapons at all times, as this will allow you to level up and receive four different bonuses at the same time. Although Arsenal System’s stats and effects have changed, its basic weapon swapping principles remain the same.
Assign Specific Equipment To Certain Skills
While there’s no absolute “right” or “wrong” way to choose a weapon, when assigning a skill, you should choose the weapon type that best suits that skill. The best weapon choice will depend on your game strategy and the class build you’re using. Each skill requires a different type of weapon to reach its full potential.
For example, combining Bash with a bludgeoning weapon can bring out the best results when facing different enemies. In addition, when the player activates a special skill, the system will auto-select the most suitable one from all the weapons currently carried to equip the character, so it’s important to maintain a diverse weapon mix.
With the introduction of Weapon Expertise menu, experimenting with your current weapons will be most helpful as you progress through the game. However, during this process, if you have a chance to obtain an Ancestral or Mythic Unique item, please be sure to pay special attention. For example, for players who use Doombringer, a high-quality one-handed sword may be one of the best options you can dream of.
When first starting your Barbarian journey, it is recommended not to rush into pursuing a specific type of gear. Instead, collect as many types of weapons as possible to make sure you take full advantage of all available Weapon Expertise class mechanics.
Now, Weapon Expertise menu is added to the game. In this menu, players can see seven different techniques, each with unique bonus effects. You can choose a technique from them and apply it to all skills, regardless of the type of weapon those skills use.
However, it should be noted that in order to upgrade these technologies, you must accumulate experience points by actually using the corresponding type of weapon, so please make sure that your equipment column contains at least one type of weapon of the corresponding type.
To improve your expertise, you can practice with training dummies or gain experience naturally by participating in regular battles. To assign a specific weapon to a skill to facilitate its upgrade, you need to go into Skill Assignment window and browse all the damage-dealing skills, hover over the weapon you want to modify, and select “Switch Weapon” option to make the adjustment.
It’s important to note that some skills may be limited to using a specific type of weapon, while skills like Walking Arsenal require the player to have a broader skill set, each of which can be equipped with a different type of weapon.
Additionally, weapons gain experience points when hitting an enemy, but not when killing an enemy. So if your attack kills in one hit, you will gain less experience from that attack. Additionally, combat in PvP mode does not provide any experience points.

Bonuses
Early in the game, when you’re at rank 1, the rewards may not be significant, so you’ll need to work on getting each weapon expertise up to rank 10. Once you reach this goal, the rewards will become more generous and you will receive additional rewards. This is very important because as you progress through the game, you no longer need to rely on experience points to increase your abilities.
I believe that after reading this guide you must have a detailed understanding of Barbarian’s Arsenal Mechanic. Now enter the game and start operating.
