Diablo 4 Season 5: A Guide To The Versatility And Usefulness Of Top 8 Mythic Uniques

Posted: Aug 19, 2024

Diablo 4 Season of the Infernal Hordes has undergone a complete classification and stat adjustment. Mythic Uniques now have powerful abilities that almost touch the limits of game balance. It is these rare Uniques that allow players to successfully defeat some of the most powerful bosses in the game.

These Mythic Uniques vary in versatility and general usefulness. This guide will introduce the use of 8 Mythic Uniques.

Diablo 4 Season 5: A Guide To The Versatility And Usefulness Of Top 8 Mythic Uniques

8. Doombringer

Doombringer has been redesigned in Diablo 4 Season of the Infernal Hordes, bringing a significant maximum life increase and good damage reduction, making it a superb weapon for improving survivability. Just by equipping an item, it can increase maximum health by 35%, which is a valuable item.

However, Doombringer may not be attractive enough for many character builds. Unless you’re a Barbarian who can sacrifice a one-handed weapon slot for other effects, other Legendary weapons tend to offer so much more damage output than Doombringer that it’s hard to really stand out from the crowd of Mythic Uniques.

7. Melted Heart Of Selig

Melted Heart of Selig is also a survivability-enhancing amulet that, when damaged, a large portion of the damage is diverted to the resource pool, mitigating direct damage to health. This amulet also significantly increases the character’s maximum resources, and can convert those resources into a secondary bag of health. So it’s suitable for character builds that have extra resources to spare.

It’s only suitable for a few specific character builds. Most skills that rely on large resource consumption are incompatible with Melted Heart of Selig. Character builds equipped with this equipment and can withstand attacks from T120 Pit bosses and Uber Lilith.

6. Ahavarion, Spear Of Lycander

I don’t agree that Ahavarion is the worst performing Mythic Unique, as it provides:

  • 160% critical strike, vulnerable, and Overpower damage
  • 33% movement speed
  • +66% to all resistances
  • +18 percent to all stats
  • 66% of the time, the character will be affected by Shrines

In addition to the above stat increases, the real value of Ahavarion is that when you defeat an Elite, you will gain a random Shrine effect that lasts for 20 seconds, and this effect has a 30-second trigger cooldown. Although the effects of Shrines in Diablo 4 vary greatly in strength, it is very powerful to obtain effects such as Artillery or Channeling Shrines based on needs.

So compared to other legendary weapons in the game, the series of stat increases and unique shrine effects provided by Ahavarion can bring similar benefits to players without directly consuming Diablo 4 Gold. How can Ahavarion be said to be a bad item?

5. Andariel’s Visage

Diablo 4 Andariel's Visage

Andariel’s Visage provides unusual properties such as attack speed and life on hit, which are properties you wouldn’t normally expect from a helmet. You can significantly increase attack speed by using Andariel’s Visage to reach a 100% attack speed cap.

Andariel’s Visage also provides a unique effect. Lucky hits can trigger a poison nova that deals tremendous damage, almost destroying any enemy in Nightmare Dungeons and Helltide in one-shotting. This makes it an indispensable core item for many rogue players’ builds.

Not every build can fully utilize the effects of Andariel’s Visage, as different builds have different effects on lucky hit proc rate. A Rogue may trigger this effect multiple times in a few seconds, while a Sorcerer or Druid may not activate it at all. If your build is not designed for DoT damage, then you can experience the genuine appeal of Andariel’s Visage.

4. Ring Of Starless Skies

Ring of Starless Skies was greatly buffed in Infernal Hordes patch. It now provides critical chance comparable to Greater Affix Legendary, but also increases attack speed. Once it’s maxed out, it will deal massive damage and reduce resource consumption when your resources are consumed, an effect that stacks up to 50%.

Ring Of Starless Skies has just about every stat you could wish for, and its unique effect works with almost every character build in the game.

3. Grandfather

Diablo 4 Grandfather

Grandfather isn’t a weapon that provides healing properties. It increases your critical damage by 100%. Rather than a small increase to your base damage bonus, it doubles all of your critical damage bonuses. Most character builds in Diablo 4 can focus on critical damage with relative ease, so every build can make the most of this stat. This also applies to the item’s other affixes, making Grandfather a powerful and widely applicable unique in Diablo 4.

2. Tyrael’s Might

Any character build that needs a boost in survivability should pick up this Tyrael’s Might, which is a leader in defensive capabilities. It provides up to 20% of global damage reduction and also significantly increases your maximum resistances.

When your HP is full, this chest armor also provides a diet Artillery Shrine, which fires a barrage of divine arrows at your skill location, and this effect has no cooldown. Although it deals less damage than Artillery Shrine, the damage reduction effect is so good that Tyrael’s Might is the best choice for almost all builds.

1. Harlequin Crest

After Harlequin Crest was buffed in Season of the Infernal Hordes, it has become an indispensable part of every S-tier meta build. Almost every build adopts this helmet to reduce the cooldown by 20%, and the cooldown can be further reduced to 44% with perfect masterwork slams, and even up to 55% with Greater Affix.

Not only does Harlequin Crest significantly increase your HP, armor, and maximum resources, it also provides a global 20% damage reduction buff, similar to the effect of Tyrael’s Might. This helmet also provides a +4 skill point bonus for the class. If you want to be a top player in Diablo 4, you must wear Harlequin Crest.

Whether it is pursuing extreme output, solid defense or flexible skill application, these Mythic Uniques can play a vital role in various character builds.
