Source: IGGMDiablo fans, Gauntlet and Leaderboards are finally here! They will be released with the new Patch 1.3.3 on March 5th.
In the meantime, this update also includes some new class balance changes, the return of Season 2 Vampiric Power, and some quality of life updates. For example, after the patch, the cost for players to craft unique Uber items will be reduced from 5 Resplendent Sparks to 4.
However, in this guide, we’ll focus on showcasing Gauntlet’s gameplay and rewards, including some Leaderboards information you need to know.
Overview
First, Gauntlet is a fixed non-linear dungeon in Diablo 4 where players need to fight to get the highest score possible.
Gauntlet dungeon resets every week, and your score is determined by how many Proofs of Might you can earn by killing monsters and opening treasure chests within the 8-minute time limit.
It’s worth noting that every time you enter Gauntlet for a week, it will be the same. This way, you can practice for better results. This Gauntlet ends every Tuesday at 8:00 AM PST, with the next completely different Gauntlet starting at 10:00 AM PST.
How To Unlock It?
Now let me tell you how to unlock Gauntlet in Diablo 4. Gauntlet is available to all classes in Seasonal Realm, but it can only be unlocked in Hardcore or Normal Mode. You need to defeat World Tier 4 monsters, and Gauntlet level will exceed level 100.
Therefore, it is recommended to have a character level of at least level 100 and invest more Diablo 4 Gold in the gear in the slots to get the maximum effect on Gauntlet gaming experience.
Gameplay
Diablo 4 Proofs of Might will increase your total score, and these can be obtained by defeating enemies and opening treasure chests. You can also increase the number of Proofs of Might you gain through score multipliers or respawning the monster you just killed. Obtaining these Proofs of Might is your primary goal in Gauntlet, and you will only receive the loot upon completion.
After killing the boss in the dungeon, a Shrine will appear on the scene, which can gain buffs when activated. Since Gauntlet will be the same throughout the week, be sure to try different routes.
Rewards
If you participate in Gauntlet, you will get a small cache after each run. After Gauntlet is reset each week, your access to Cache of Trial will be determined by your best score, with the higher the score, the better Cache.
You’ll be rewarded that week with a Cache of Trial guaranteed to be an Ancestral Legendary, so basically you’ll get some loot.
Of these, Seal of The Worthy will be the most coveted treasure as they are guaranteed to drop level 925 items. Obtaining a higher level Seal will still grant you the rewards of a lower level Seal, while obtaining a Seal of The Worthy will grant you all available Seal Caches for that week.
You can also win multiple seals in multiple Gauntlet ladders. As your score increases and your ranking rises, these ladders become available. There are four levels of Seals available, and the points required to get each Seal will vary each week, depending on Gauntlet’s layout and the class you’re playing.
These scores are proportional to party size, larger groups will have an easier time achieving higher scores than solo players, and will be tracked in a separate ladder leaderboard.
Leaderboards
Now let’s talk about Leaderboards and Call of the Ancients, which is probably the most interesting part of the update.
Leaderboards are divided into ladders by class, party size, hardcore or normal. They can also filter by friends and clan to see how your level compares to your friends. Specific ladders will only be assigned to those playing alone.
There are 16 ladders to rise to every week, and you don’t need to enable crossplay to gain points and rank on Leaderboards. But you do need to enable crossplay to view in-game Leaderboards.
If you accomplish in the top 100 of any ladder, you will receive Conqueror’s Crest Mount Trophy.
If you accomplish in the top ten on any Leaderboard, your name and character will be immortalized in Call of the Ancients, allowing other players to view your scores and performance in the future. I think this is one of the coolest parts of the update! Because your name will be permanently embedded in the game, all other players can see your score and compare it to theirs.
You’ll see in Leaderboards what happens every time you kill the same boss in Gauntlet, and adjust your builds to master the weekly layout.
Anyway, that’s all there is to know about Gauntlets and Leaderboards coming to Diablo 4.
