Source: IGGMToday, the build we’re bringing you is Stormclaw Druid. This Stormclaw Druid build uses Greatstaff of The Crone, while attacking with Claw and Storm Strike. It offers a true melee play style and superior tanking capabilities to stay competitive even in high Nightmare Dungeons.
For the rest of the content, this build is an absolute tank, nearly impossible to kill while still delivering incredible speed and damage. However, this build requires Greatstaff of The Crone to function.
Overview
This build is very easy to play. Its major damage comes from its two basic skills, Claw and Storm Strike. This means that we don’t have to worry about Spirit generation at all. The most challenging part is managing our uptime on Petrify. But even then, there’s no penalty outside of Nightmare Dungeon’s advancement.
The build also benefits from some other skills and passives. When we’re in trouble, Cyclone Armor provides considerable damage reduction and knockback. Blood Howl can increase healing and attack speed. Hurricane provides damage reduction and slowdown. Petrify is a powerful Crowd Control that can also deal massive damage, especially against bosses.
In this guide, we’ll share everything you need to know to successfully use Stormclaw Druid in Diablo 4. Let’s dig into it!
Gear & Aspects
Most of our core aspects come from Codex of Power, so we can start building with them.
Rapid Aspect is a significant DPS and healing improvement to the build. Place it in the amulet slot for extra value. And the damage boost provided by Edgemaster’s Aspect is almost always maxed out in this build.
Also, the movement speed on the boots will significantly increase your upgrade and Diablo 4 Gold farming speed, while also providing more attack speed via Hectic Effect.
One thing to note is to upgrade your weapons in time when you have the resources. Any other gear can wait until we found better items.

Vampiric Powers
Diablo 4 Season 2 introduces Vampiric Powers mechanic. Completing seasonal quest lines, taking part in Blood Harvest events, and collecting Potent Blood are the primary ways to get and enhance these abilities.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at the 5 best Vampiric Powers for a Stormclaw Druid build and how they affect this build.
- Ravenous: The attack speed we get from this is incredible. We’re not quite at the movement cap yet in this build, but we’re getting pretty close. So Ravenous can almost maximize the value here.
- Moonrise: This Vampiric Power seems tailor-made for this build, giving an enormous boost to attack speed, damage, and movement speed. We can easily maintain 100% uptime on all gains.
- Hectic: Since we only use three cooldowns very often and two of them are short, this is mostly for Petrify. This is a tremendous boost to its uptime. It also makes it easier to keep Fortify capped at Blood Howl.
- Undying: This provides a ton of healing, and our very high attack speed means we gain more from it than other builds. It’s probably the best healing effect in Diablo 4 yet.
- Metamorphosis: While not necessary in lower-level content, the permanent unstoppable it provides is powerful in higher level Nightmare Dungeons.
Skill Tree
Claw is our main damage skill. Greatstaff of The Crone allows him to cast Storm Strike. Shred is used to moving with Primal Shred.
Petrify provides huge CC and tons of multiplier damage. Prime Petrify has its duration increased, making it easier to kill enemies before it released them from the stunned state.
Blood Howl is a stable healer with very high uptime that also provides attack speed with Preserving Blood Howl and Fortify with Bolster.
Cyclone Armor can provide you with multiple sources of damage reduction and knockback effects. And Hurricane can reduce damage and provide a slowing effect.
Paragon And Glyphs
Stormclaw’s Paragon Board avoids respecification almost entirely, with only minor changes to three nodes at the end.
We need to upgrade our glyphs to activate their bonuses with surrounding nodes. For some glyphs, we maximize the bonus by allocating every relevant node within the range. On other glyphs, we only use the minimum amount required for additional bonuses.
Summary
Stormclaw Druid is a true tank in every sense of the word, with a level of defense that rivals every other builds in the game. This build is one of the easiest to play due to the simple rotation and no resource management. It’s strongest when pushing Nightmare Dungeons, but performs well on all types of content due to its high mobility and solid damage.
