Source: IGGMIf you’ve been playing Diablo 4 for a while, you’ve probably realized that outfitting your Diablo 4 gear can be an expensive endeavor. However, by enchanting your items in the right way, you can save millions of gold coins.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the complete process of enchanting gear and reveal a simple strategy for keeping Diablo 4 Gold in your pocket during Season 2.
How Does Enchanting Work?
The enchanting mechanic in Diablo 4 is available starting at level 25. Or you can choose to add at least one Diablo 4 Item to your Codex of Power to make it available.
You can find enchanters in most towns. To enchant an item, you need to first talk to enchanters and select this “Enchanted Item” option. Then, place the item you want to enchant by replacing the unwanted or fixed affix with a new one.
You can change the effect as many times as you want. But please note that the cost of each enchantment will increase accordingly, sometimes even costing millions of Diablo 4 Gold.
During the enchantment period, it can replace only one affix per item. After you replace an affix with an enchantment, you cannot change any other affixes on that item.
In addition, during each enchantment, you will see three options, namely two random affixes to replace the current affixes, and a “No Change” option. Note that selecting “No Change” option will still consume materials and gold, even if you don’t get the required affix. So please choose carefully!
Tips For Saving Gold
To save millions of gold coins during enchantment, here are some tips you must pay attention to.
First, when you find a rare item with three or four rare affixes, please do not immediately upgrade it or imprint any Aspects on it. Because doing so tends to significantly increase your enchantment costs.
For example, the first enchantment for an unenchanted rare glove only costs 48,000 gold. If you upgrade it to level 5, you will need to spend 51,000 gold coins. However, if an Aspect is imprinted on it before enchanting it, the cost jumps to 89,000 gold.
Another example is that the cost of enchanting one of my rare weapons is 355,000 gold coins. After upgrading and imprinting, the price of the enchantment skyrockets to a staggering 751,000 gold coins.
Instead, always enchant your item first until it rolls with the desired affix you’re looking for. Once you have the required affix, you can proceed to upgrade and imprint it.
Following this sequence can save you hundreds of millions in gold in the long run. Because the higher the rarity or quality of the item, the more expensive the enchantment will be.
Note, however, that this strategy does not work with enchanted legendary items. For legendary gear, you must pay the listed enchantment price, as we cannot downgrade them to rare quality.
Outro
By following this enchantment strategy in Diablo 4, you can keep your hard-earned gold in your pocket in Season 2 and avoid unnecessary extra enchantment fees.
Therefore, be sure to remember the order of enchanting first, then upgrading and imprinting. Good luck with your enchanting efforts and may you find the perfect affixes for your gear on your adventures in Sanctuary!
