Mastering these offensive methods will greatly improve your gameplay and help you win more games. Of course, if you want to make the most of your tactics, it is essential to prepare some EA CFB 25 coins! Without further ado, let’s get started!
Offense Playbook
In this offense, we will run Trips Tight End Offset Weak formation using Georgia Offense Playbook. The beauty of this offense is that it can be used in any playbook using Trips setup, which has a Tight End located behind and on the line of scrimmage. Now let’s get into the first play.
Trips Setup
For the first setup, we will review 1 Play TD vs Cover 3 and 4 in the play calling menu.
Select any pass play in Trips Tight End Offset Weak formation. On the play, make sure you have the three wide receivers set up on the far side of the field. To adjust, put the tight end in the post and customize the route to step into the post so the tight end cuts 13 to 15 yards down the field.
On the other side, put the wide receiver on Curl Route and customize Curl Route to move about 15 yards downfield, then have the middle receiver drag the inside receiver and block the running back for extra protection.
Your main read in the play is the tight end in the post. On the snap, read the inside receiver’s Curl Route to see if he’s pulling deep inside quarter or deep inside third up the field to Cover 3. Then take a quick look at Curl Route to see if he’s able to pull deep outside zone down. If he does, there will be wide grass above the defender to shoot a laser into the tight end post for a 1 Play Touchdown.
Next, we’ll talk about a vertical play for 1 Play TD vs Cover 2 zone defense. On the play, make sure the trips side is on the far side of the field.
For the adjustment, block the running back for extra protection. Put the tight end in the corner and keep everything else the same.
On the snap, you’ll see the outside receiver pull the deep half safety toward the sideline, while the inside receiver pulls the weak side deep half safety away from the middle of the field. When you see this happening, you can pass the ball to the inside receiver to split the cover into the zone for a 1 Play Touchdown.
How To Beat The Universal Defense?
For the next setup, we’ll talk about a play that beats both man defense and zone defense. You can pick any passing play in Trips Tight End Offset Weak formation. Once in the play, make sure to put the trips side on the far side of the field.
For the adjustment, put the outside receiver on the streak, the middle receiver on the slant, the inside receiver on the zig, and have the running back take a table route toward the tight end.
Then in the backfield, put the tight end on the deep cross. This play is powerful with four-man defense beat routes, as well as a route combo that destroys the zone defense.
On the play, your first read is the zig route. If you find that the defense does not have a flat zone on the zig route side, then throw the ball to the zig route for an easy finish.
Your second read is the deep cross ran by the tight end. On the snap, if you find that the zig route is being taken by the flat zone and the streak is pulling the deep zone defender down the court while the user is busy guarding the middle of the court. You can get the tight end crosser open near the sideline over the flat defender’s head and under the deep zone defender for an easy score.
Your third read is the slant route. If the drag and the tight end crosser are being defended, check the space the slant is running towards. If there is an open space, you can pass the lead ball away from the defender for an easy shot. If there are no other open spaces, your last read is the running back table route as a checking option.
Verticals
Verticals are a very effective play against zone defense because it attacks the seams, the deep parts of the field and the sidelines.
Be sure to have three wide receivers on the far side of the court during the play. To make the adjustment, place the running back on the table route, go to the tight end side, place the tight end in the corner, and keep the rest of the route the same.
Your first read is the inside receiver on a deep cross. On the snap, if you read that the middle of the field is open, quickly throw the ball to the inside receiver for an easy throw and catch.
Your second read is the middle receiver on a seam streak. If you read that the defender above the middle receiver retreats to the flat, and there is no zone defender guarding the seam, you can throw the ball to the seam streak for easy yardage.
Your last two reads are the tight end corner and the running back table route. The goal of these routes is to isolate the flat defender, creating a high-low concept. This puts the defender in conflict because he can’t defend the corner and the table route at the same time.
On the play, if you read the flat and stay low to defend the running back pass, you can direct the ball to the tight end corner route, away from the defender, for an easy score on the sideline. If the flat zone drop leaves the flats open, check to see if the ball falls to the running back for an easy score.
Meta Blitz Strategy
Next, we’ll cover how to defeat a Meta Blitz called Mid Blitz Zero in Double Mug Formation.
First, call any pass play in Trips Tight End Offset Weak formation with the trips side lined up on the far side of the field. The first thing you have to do to defeat this Blitz is to set up your pass protection.
During the play, hold down LB or L1 and flick the left stick in the opposite direction of the running back. Then hold down LB or L1 again and press A/X and move M icon to D-end on the running back side. This will tell the running back to block the player with M icon above his head. This blocking protection will give you a clean pocket to project lasers down the field to counter Blitz.
For hot route adjustments, place the tight end on the corner and then customize the route to take him all the way to the line of scrimmage. On the other side, place the wide receiver on the comeback, the middle receiver on the slant, and the inside receiver on the zig.
On the play, your first read is the tight end on a route stemmed corner. This route breaks one-on-one coverage by cutting quickly to the outside after the ball is snapped.
Your second read is the zig. If this beats the defender for a pass, then lead the ball to the outside, away from the defender, and make a long run after the catch for an easy yardage gain.
Your third read is the slant to the inside receiver. If there is no help in the middle of the field and the receiver beats the defender on the line of scrimmage, then lead the ball to the receiver away from the defense for a simple pass and catch.
Your last read is the comeback route. The comeback does a great job of beating man coverage. Just make sure to throw the ball as soon as you see the receiver break to the outside. This leads to the ball to the receiver at perfect timing for an easy catch.
Inside Zone
The last play is Inside Zone. Mixing this running and heavy pass scheme will keep your opponents guessing, making your offense unstoppable and unpredictable. When running this play, try to read your blocks and hit open holes for big yards.
