Source: IGGMBlack Myth Wukong, which many players have been waiting for, has officially launched on August 20, and players can’t wait to enter the game to show their skills. In the first chapter of the game, Black Cloud, Red Fire, you will encounter the first two-stage boss of this beautiful game, called Whiteclad Noble.
Since you encounter Whiteclad Noble in the early stages of the game, you currently have a limited range to build. Also, Whiteclad Noble is not vulnerable to any specific attacks, so it is very important to first understand its attack mode and specify your own counterattack mode accordingly. This guide will introduce you to the two stages of your battle with it and what you should pay attention to.
Pre-Battle Preparation
After you defeat Guangmou, you will meet an NPC called ShenHou, who will teach you Brew technique, which allows you to use Gourd, a Black Myth Wukong Item, to restore your health during the battle. Then, if you continue, you will encounter Whiteclad Noble in Bamboo Forest near Temple of Guardian of White Mist Swamp.
Whiteclad Noble is an agile boss with a variety of ranged attacks and close-range combos. You can try to get close to him and counterattack him after each attack, but he will slowly back away to perform ranged attacks. So what you need to do is keep your distance and lure him into a slam to punish you.
For skills and equipment, your best options are Red Tides spell, Wandering Wight Spirit Skill, Composure, Soaring Strike, and a full set of Pilgrim armor. This way you can ensure that you can get through both phases in one go. If you can’t defeat Whiteclad Noble successfully in one go, you can rest at a respawn point or use more Black Myth Wukong Items to strengthen yourself.
Phase 1
During the battle, Whiteclad Noble will attack with the same running and jumping moves, but you can easily dodge and counter with combos. However, don’t get your hopes up, because he moves too fast and you can’t use a full combo on him.
At this point you can use Composure you unlocked previously, fix it somewhere and then attack it. It’s worth noting that you can hit him again with a powerful slam attack at the end of the combo, at which point his health will be reduced a lot.
During the first phase, you can use Red Tides, Immobilize, and Guangmou. If the Whiteclad Noble keeps charging at you during the fight, you can use Red Tides so that you can attack it head-on when it charges at you.
When your special ability is on cooldown, it is important to keep your distance from Whiteclad Noble, because as long as you have enough stamina, you can continue to sprint and your Swift Pilgrim damage will continue to accumulate. Besides this, it is easier to dodge it when it attacks you from a distance, especially when it wants to sprint or charge.
Once your energy bar is full, you can quickly rush to it and use combos. It is important to note that you should try to stay away from the edge of the swamp as this may block your view and prevent you from seeing what is happening.
If you see him start to crouch and put his spear behind him, move away from him as soon as possible, because this is a sign that he is about to launch an area attack. When he sticks his spear into the ground and spins around it, it means that he is about to start a flying kick attack on you, which is very easy to dodge. But don’t take it lightly, because the flying kick is often followed by a powerful spear attack.
When it spins its spear and launches a series of water blades at you quickly, you can use side impact to avoid these attacks. When it sends out Hey-ah!, it means that you can start to make the final blow to it, but you still need to pay attention to the direction of its final blow and remember to avoid it.
Phase 2
After you land the final blow on it, it will slowly stand up and say something to you. After this cutscene, you will enter the second phase of your fight with Whiteclad Noble. By the way, this cutscene will not only appear when you first enter this battle but also when you fight Whiteclad Noble again after losing the battle.
Although Whiteclad Noble’s attack power will be stronger in its snake-y form in the second phase, most of its attacks and moves are similar to those in the first phase. So you still need to keep your distance from it and try to make it rush you. At this time, the cooldown of your special skills should be up, so you can use them as soon as possible.
Most of its fiercer attacks will be signaled by a very obvious charging posture and a Hi-ya! sound, so you can prepare early. But for some tricky attacks, you need to pay special attention. For example, when it throws its spear, the spear will automatically return to its side, so don’t get close to Whiteclad Noble when it throws the spear, otherwise you will be stabbed by the returning spear.
Although it moves faster in snake-y form, you can still dodge its attacks flexibly. All you need to do is wait and try not to use the combos that it can take to counterattack. While dodging, you can repeatedly employ the bait technique to hit Whiteclad Noble several times and ultimately defeat him.
After defeating Whiteclad Noble, you will open the way to Black Wind cave. You can also collect some Will at the same time. You can use Will to select the items you want from Shrine store, but if you don't have much time to collect too much Will, why not try Black Myth Wukong Boosting? It can help you collect Will you need when you don't have time.
This is the battle guide for this two-stage boss. I hope you can successfully defeat it step by step according to the steps of this guide. I wish you a good time playing this new and very popular game!
