Source: IGGMFrom December 6, 2023, New World will have short days and long nights and will be covered with large expanses of snow. That's because the annual Winter Convergence Festival is back again. And this event will continue until January 10, 20203.
During this time the Winter Wanderer will also return to the New World again, establishing his Winter Villages, giving aid and spreading joy to all the inhabitants of Aeternum. But this pleasant atmosphere will also be broken by the arrival of the Winter Warrior. It is a vengeful creature. And the reason why it came to Aeternum was to spread eternal winter to this place at all costs.
During the Winter Convergence Festival, you'll have a lot to see and do, new quests to complete, new world bosses to defeat, and more importantly, even more collectibles exclusive to the event loot. So what exactly can you expect from the Winter Convergence Festival?
The Winter Wanderer Overview
If you haven't seen the Winter Wanderer before or don't know much about him, you tend to think of him as a giant yeti who only comes to Aeternum during the Winter Convergence. In fact, the arrival of the Winter Wanderer is not only to bring joy to the residents living in Aeternum, he is also the main task provider of the Winter Convergence.
As long as you receive quests from the Winter Wanderer and complete the quests he gives you, you can increase your reputation with him. In addition, you have to work with him to protect Aeternum from the Winter Warrior coming to destroy it. Once you've managed to do these things, you'll be able to earn even more seasonal items in the Holiday Huts that appear with him.
How To Fight With The Winter Warrior
Outside the safe and peaceful Winter Villages, there is the Winter Warrior and his Frigid Folk. They also came to Aeternum with the start of the festival and wreaked havoc on the place. Their ultimate goal is to bring eternal winter to Aeternum. Therefore, if you don't want all the inhabitants of Aeternum to freeze to death, you need to quickly take out the new world boss called the Winter Warrior and his Frigid Folk.
You can find the Winter Warrior and his Frigid Folk in the following areas, Great Cleave, Brightwood, Edengrove, Ebonscale Reach, and Brimstone Sands. If you want to defeat this new world boss and end his campaign of ice and destruction, you'll have to gather a large party of at least 20 players to fight with you.
Winter Villages And Winter Tokens
Aeternum generally has a cheerful vibe thanks to the arrival of the Winter Wanderer.
The main center of the Winter Convergence Festival is mainly scattered in the four Winter Villages around Aeternum, which are located in Everfall, Monarch's Bluffs, Weaver's Fen and Brightwood.
In every Winter Village you can find the Winter Wanderer. Interact with him and complete his quests to earn you a variety of seasonal gifts like new Weapon and Apparel Skins, Emotes, Housing Items, and more.
You can also earn Winter Tokens by completing quests given to you by the Winter Wanderer, collecting Gleamite that only falls from the sky at night, and turning in lost gifts you find on your travels.
If you want to get even more into the festive spirit, head to each Winter Village's central location. There, in a huge Tree of Light, you can buy some gifts every day. You can even earn more daily gifts by upgrading the Tree of Light through Town Projects, as long as you have room in your inventory for extra gifts.
These activities above will also help you increase your reputation with the Winter Wanderer and help you unlock more items that can be purchased in his store. If you want the best festive gear and loot you can find a way to really get into the spirit of the season.
All in all, this year's Winter Convergence still has a lot of new things waiting for you to explore. If you want to be fully prepared for this big holiday adventure, it would be a good idea to stock up on some New World Coins in advance.
