View More >Diablo 4 Season 7 Witch Power: How To Get Them?
In the upcoming Diablo 4 Season 7 update on January 21, developers will bring new powers, new weapons, new pets and other Diablo 4 Items to players.
It is not clear whether there will be new classes, but Witch Power will be the theme of this season.
Overview Of Witch Power
In the seventh season of Diablo, the creators brought 24 different witch powers to players. And these 24 witch powers are divided into four schools and two different qualities.
Four schools:
- Eldritch witch power
- Growth & Decay witch power
- Psyche witch power
- Lost witch power
Each school has a unique power, and the rest are Normal Powers. Players can carry up to 6 witch powers at a time, five of which are Normal Powers and one is a unique power.
These witch powers will bring different effects to players, some of which enhance the player’s attributes, and some of which allow players to cause additional damage to monsters.
Witch Powers are enhanced at certain levels, gaining additional effects. For example, when Poison Frog Servant reaches level 5, it will give your Poison Frog the ability to taunt.
If you want to grow quickly in Season 7, You can enter the IGGM Discord, where there are some random Diablo 4 giveaways.
How To Get Witch Powers?
All Witch Powers have corresponding altars:
- Altar of the Eldritch
- Altar of the Psyche
- Altar of Growth
- Forgotten Altars
Altar of the Eldritch, Altar of the Psyche, and Altar of Growth can all be found in the Whispering Tree, while Forgotten Altars can appear in any dungeon. To obtain these powers you must first increase your Seasonal Reputation with The Coven.
Increasing your reputation will allow you to learn more Witch Powers, as well as obtain crafting materials and Diablo 4 Items.
After you obtain Witch Powers, you can upgrade them. The item required to upgrade Witch Powers is Restless Rot, and the main way to obtain Restless Rot is to participate in Headhunt. Headhunt is the main activity of Season 7, which usually appears around the Sanctuary.
All Witch Powers:
Eldritch Witch Powers
Doom Orb (unique)
A sphere of pure Eldritch energy surrounds you. This sphere will actively attack distant enemies and return, dealing some fire damage.
Rank 5: Damaging or killing a boss increases Doom Orb’s damage by 5%. When it reaches 100%, it explodes and re-condenses after three seconds. Enemies caught in the explosion will take 5200 damage.
Abyssal Resonance
When 250 resources are consumed, an explosion occurs, dealing Shadow damage. Each subsequent explosion within 10 seconds increases the size and damage of the explosion by 130%. Stacks up to 3 times.
Rank 10: Before the third explosion, it pulls enemies towards you.
Firebat Servants
Every 2 seconds, a group of fire bats rushes towards the enemy, dealing fire damage.
At higher ranks: Enemies hit 5 times by Firebats are stunned for 3 seconds.
Hex Of Flames
Lucky Shot: While you cast Hex of Flames on an enemy, each time you damage the target, you deal 1,600 additional Fire damage.
Rank 7: When your Hex of Flames deals critical damage, it explodes.
Purging Touch
Headrotten takes more damage from Eldritch Witch Powers.
Rank 10: This effect applies to all monsters.
Shaken Soul
Eldritch Witch Powers make enemies vulnerable for a period of time.
Rank 10: Psyche Damage and Growth & Decay now also cause this effect but for half the duration.
Wave Of Woe
Enemy hit by a skill is hit by Wave of Woe. Wave of Woe deals Shadow damage to enemies, and enemies of the same type are also affected by this damage.
Rank 5: Increases the amount of reflection by 15% each time, and can be reflected at least 5 times. Can attack the same target multiple times.
Growth & Decay Witch Power
The Cycle (unique)
Dealing damage with a skill has a 15% chance to cause a flower to grow from the ground. This flower poisons a nearby enemy or heals a nearby teammate for 6% of their maximum health. The flower then withers. This skill occurs every five seconds per enemy.
Rank 5: The flower affects all nearby enemies or allies.
Aura Of Siphoning
Summons an aura of decay that poisons enemies.
Rank 10: Restores 1% of your health when Aura of Siphoning deals damage.
Decay Augmentation
Your Witchcraft Effects deal additional damage over 5 seconds.
Rank 10: When damage over time effects exceed 85% of the target’s total health, they are instantly executed.
Grow
After casting your ultimate, your friendly units gain the power of dark magic. Increases size and damage for 15 seconds.
Rank 11: Allied units gain 100% critical strike chance when enlarged.
Hex Of Whispers
Damaging an enemy is afflicted with the Whispering Curse, causing the next damage dealt to make additional Shadow damage, which then jumps to another enemy, affecting up to 6 enemies. The Whispering Curse can only be applied once every 5 seconds.
Rank 7: After bouncing to 6 enemies, the curse returns, empowering you and removing all negative status effects on you.
Poison Frog Servant
Summons a poison frog servant that lasts three seconds and deals poison damage to enemies. The frog explodes violently upon death, dealing lethal damage, and enemies are affected by the poison.
Rank 5: Enemies are pulled toward Poison Frog’s attacks and taunted for 1 second.
Soul Harvest
Using skills that require a cooldown drains the life of nearby enemies, and each monster killed grants a small boost to your primary attribute that lasts for a few seconds.
Rank 9: Soul Harvest will not go on cooldown as long as there are enemies nearby.
Psyche Witch Powers
Vengeful Spirit (unique)
While a Vengeful Spirit minion is active, all damage taken is taken by the soul. Vengeful Spirit minion appears every 19 seconds.
Rank 5: When Vengeful Spirit loses all health, it will rush to up to 8 enemies, dealing 2,000 Shadow damage to them.
Aura Of Lament
The first enemy you attack is affected by the Aura of Lament, slowing it and nearby enemies by 70%. If the initial enemy dies, it will be transferred to a random nearby enemy. The aura can only affect 1 enemy at a time and has a 30 second cooldown.
Aura Of Misfortune
Chance to interrupt the attack of enemies other than bosses.
Rank 5: Increase movement speed by 5%, slow enemies by 30%.
Hex Of Shattering
Your Witchcraft Effects reduce enemy damage.
Rank 8: Headrotten When affected by any curse, damage dealt to it for 5 seconds becomes a Critical Strike.
Life Link
Links to up to three enemies, transferring damage you take to them. Does not work on other players.
Rank 15: After using a Trick, Defense, or Terror skill, any linked damage for 10 seconds becomes a Critical Strike.
Twilight Warding
Gain a barrier that lasts 5 seconds.
Rank 12: Reflects enemy projectiles while active.
Lost Witch Powers
Piranhado (unique)
Enemies affected by curses and auras are pulled toward Piranhado and take physical damage over 12 seconds. 20 second cooldown.
Rank 5: Piranhado will actively move toward enemies.
Aura Of Specialization
Increases the effectiveness of your auras
Rank 10: Increases critical hit damage against enemies within the aura by 50%.
Breath Of The Coven
Increases your attack speed when damaging an enemy with a Witch Power. Lasts 10 seconds, stacks once for each unique witch power.
Rank 8: Gain 40% luck hit chance when all Witch Powers bonuses are active at the same time.
Hex Specialization
Increases the effectiveness of Hex Effects.
Rank 10: Increases critical strike chance against enemies affected by Hex Effects by 10%.
These are the witch powers for Season of the Witch, and random combinations of these powers may work wonders. Players can try to find the best combination after Season 7 goes live. I hope these contents can help you quickly complete various activities when Season 7 comes, and obtain a large number of Diablo 4 Gold, unique equipment and other items to make your character stronger.
Is Diablo 4 Still Worth Playing In 2025? - For Different Groups
In the past 2024, Diablo 4’s performance can be said to be very impressive, such as providing players with 4 seasons of different game content (Season 3 - Season 6), releasing the game’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred DLC, and various improvements in the game’s quality of life and mechanics.
Of course, these outstanding achievements are presented to all players by the developers. Is this really the case? Unfortunately, in the summer of 2024, Diablo 4’s daily active players gradually decreased due to the impact of Elden Ring’s new expansion Shadow of the Erdtree. In the past December, because of the release of Path of Exile 2 Early Access, many D4 players have flowed to this game with plenty of gimmicks.
So in the current 2025, is Diablo 4, a game that has been released for a year and a half, still worth exploring for players? In fact, there is no definite conclusion to this question, because it is uncertain what changes will happen to D4 or other games in 2025, and every player will definitely have an answer of their own. Here we will dialectically look at whether the game Diablo 4 is worth continuing to spend time and energy to play in the new year based on the needs of different groups of people.
For Diablo 4 Enthusiasts
For players who only love the excitement and crazy exploration experience brought by Diablo 4, 2025 is definitely a year worth continuing the exploration journey. First of all, in the first month of the year, January 21, Season 7 will be released. In this new season, you will feel that a new power called Witch Powers has been added to the game, which will make the complete game shrouded in a more mysterious color.
Players familiar with this game must know that this is the tradition of Diablo 4. In each new season, players will be brought a system or mechanism that will make earth-shaking changes to the game content. For example, last season, Spiritborn that can use various animal spirits was added, which made a huge change in the build level in the game - Spiritborn build became the darling of players.
Although Roadmap of Diablo 4 in 2025 has not been officially announced at this stage, under the condition that the developers carefully listen to the suggestions and feedback of players, its performance in 2025 will definitely not be too bad, and it can even attract more players with different skill levels to join it. So as a loyal fan of D4, are you looking forward to seeing more new players in the game?
It is also worth explaining to you that in your future explorations, you can get more game products, such as items or gold, through the gift channel in IGGM Discord, which will make your exploration in future seasons easier and more enjoyable.
As Passerby Players
For those players who often hang out in various MMORPGs, it is a bit unworthy to spend a lot of time and energy on Diablo 4. First, under the impact of many similar games, the number of daily active players of Diablo 4 is gradually decreasing, which makes it impossible for you to find enough teammates when you are exploring in a party form.
Although Diablo 4 provides a lot of tolerance for some single-player exploration players, some late-game bosses or campaigns are very difficult to pass if explored alone, and even require nearly dozens of hours on them. This is very disadvantageous for players who have other game options, because they will directly give up this difficult grinding and turn to more interesting and simple activities in other games.
More importantly, with the change of seasons, it takes more time and effort to obtain a large amount of Diablo 4 Gold in the game, and the demand for Gold in the game has also increased greatly, which will make players often feel that they can’t make ends meet and then give up the game.
Speaking of spending, the overall cost of Diablo 4 is also much higher than similar games. First, the basic game requires you to spend $49.99. If you want to experience the game content in the new expansion, you have to spend $69.99 to get Vessel of Hatred expansion. For the same type of Last Epoch, you only need $34.99 to explore the basic game, and even Ultimate Edition only costs you $64.99. In this case, I believe that some passers-by players will be more willing to choose a more cost-effective game to play.
Although Supporter Pack in Path of Exile 2 Early Access currently costs you $29.99 to get, given the grand storyline and more worthy game mechanics in this game, more passers-by players are more willing to explore it. Not only that, its original work, which was released nearly ten years ago, has always maintained an excellent reputation among many players, and the equally highly anticipated POE 3.26 is also expected to be released in February 2025. Under the impact of these two games, Diablo 4 may have even less market share, and fewer and fewer players will explore it.
In addition, Elden Ring, which caused the initial impact on D4 last summer, will also launch a derivative game in 2025 called Elden Ring Nightreign, which will support players to play couch Co-Op, which is one feature that Diablo 4 players have always dreamed of. The announcement of this derivative game may cause D4, a game that is used to being self-contained, to be severely affected again.
In general, if you are a player who has only explored Diablo 4, you can look forward to what new surprises the developers will bring you in 2025. But for those players who are just watching the fun, this game is not worth spending too much time and energy on, because there really won’t be any new moves. You can focus on new similar games or new expansions or sequels of some old games. I wish you a happy gaming journey in 2025!
